We found the beach!

Image
Who knew we'd find beach in NW Washington but we did.  We ventured out for more exploring today and found several neat beach areas, another great playground and John and Mac got a crab which the devoured for dinner.  Mac loved it, Emily resisted trying it but once she did she loved it too.  I see alot of crabbing in the kids future!

Out on the Kayak

John and Mac finally were able to get out on the kayak.  It was a beautiful day, Emily and I went down to the dock to see them, they were way out there.  We had fun watching them, they paddled in, John really got a good upper body workout!  They had a big seal come up next to them and hang out for a while which Mac loved.

Please don't call me sister

At dinner tonight John called Emily "sister".  She immediately stopped him and said "Please don't call me sister" and went back to eating.  John asked her what she preferred to be called......she said "Princess", a minute later she pipes in again and says "you can also call me Emily".   Oh boy......

More exploring

We've been doing some more exploring, scouting out all the parks is top on our list so we find the fun places to burn off some energy!  We found a park yesterday that has a merry-go-round.  I haven't seen one of those in many of years!  After that we went exploring along the waterfront.  There is a Norwegian landscape to the "downtown area", it's pretty cool.  We took John back today and walked along the water front,  a sea otter jumped out of the water onto a floating dock and enjoyed his dinner, we also found a sand crab, another park and lots of little shops.  Yesterday Mac saw a restaurant called JJ's Fish House, all he's been talking about is wanting to eat there, so we did tonight which was the highlight for Mac.  He loves fish and ate every bite of his fish and chips tonight!  Off to the Farmer's Market tomorrow!

A day in Seattle

Image
John was off today so we took the ferry into Seattle on our bikes and explored the city.  We stopped by the Coast Guard base, then to Pike's Place Market where we had lunch and enjoyed the market atmosphere.  After our bellies were full we rode to the space needle and played around the area of the space needle and then went up into the space needle.  By 5 o'clock it was time to head back to the ferry and ride home.  It was a great day and the kids really did well.  Mac didn't complain once about all the bike riding or hills we tackled!

Exploring our new city

Image
We've spent the last two days exploring the city, finding some fun parks, signing up for the summer reading program, looking at preschools, finding a summer camp or two for the kids to make friends and going for a bike ride together.  I think were going to like there area, there are lots for the kids to do, we are so excited and ready to move into our new home on the first!  Were off to explore Seattle tomorrow.
