Space Center adventure

Image
Today our adventure took us to the Kennedy Space Center. We spent all day exploring, it was a lot of fun. The kids got pretty tired out but we saw lots of cool things. You could easily spend two days there to see everything. We are off to Sea World tomorrow!

Florida Gatorland

Image
We picked Grandma Jan up at the airport this morning and headed to Gatorland. It was cold here, 40 degrees this morning. Florida isn't supposed to be this cold! Anyway we bundled up and explored a place called Gatorland. It was very cool, lots of stuff to do. We saw lots of gators of course, played in their playground, took at train ride and saw some shows. Mac got to hold a python snake which he loved and went into the aviary and got freaked out initially with all the birds on him, but by the end was digging it. We had a good day and all are beat tonight. Off to the space center tomorrow!

I'm out of control

At dinner this evening Mac had been a pretty good boy, especially for being stuck in a car for 12 hours. He ate a great dinner, which came with ice cream. He went gaga over the ice cream and shoveling it in. I asked him to settle down and he looks up and says very calmly "I'm out of control". Ice cream does that to us at time I guess!

Almost to Florida

We started our journey a little after 5 this morning and were making great time. We stopped for lunch then headed into South Carolina where it all went down hill. Traffic was horrible, we would go a few miles at normal speed, then just stop, slowly start, etc. It was awful. We went 100 miles in about 3 1/2 hours. So we gave up at stopped in Georgia. 12 hours in the car we were all maxed out. We'll see Cocoa Beach tomorrow!

Off to Florida

We are off tomorrow morning for a fun two week adventure to Florida and a Disney cruise. When Mac and his cousin Brian were born (two days apart) we said we should do a Disney cruise when they turn five. We'll were approaching their 5th birthday in two weeks so off we go! We are going to hit some fun things in Florida before the cruise and enjoy some family time before John's crazy deployment schedule begins again. We'll have internet off and on and we'll try to post a blog when we can. If we cannot we'll see you back again in a few weeks! Happy New Year!

What a Christmas day

Image
Santa came to our house will full bags and then some this year! Mac woke up around 3:30 this morning and came in and asked us he could go see if Santa came. We told him no it was way to early to get up so he crawled in bed with us and woke us up about every hour to see if we could go downstairs. A little after 6 am we gave in and boy Santa did come! Mac's gift from Santa was a Razor scooter and a transformer and for Emily was a kitchen. Both kids were ecstatic. Then we opened our stockings and the kids dug into a few gifts. Mac was giggling and just couldn't get enough. After Emily had a few presents opened and her arms full she didn't want to open anymore presents. After a while we got them all open and it looked like a toy store blew up in our house. We are so thankful for all the gifts from family, I think next year we will limit it to one gift per child. They are set for all long while, both kids received some wonderful gifts. We went to dinner at a friends house which ...

Christmas Eve

Image
Happy Christmas Eve to everyone! We've had a great day today, went to church this evening and topped the night off with opening one present, putting out goodies for Santa and the reindeer and reading "The Night before Christmas". We asked Mac what he was thankful for this Christmas, see the video at the bottom. Both kids are super excited, tomorrow morning is going to be so much fun! Merry Christmas everyone! .

Whatcha doing over there?

John and I were working rearranging the kids play area today, Mac wanted to play out back. We peeked out to see what he was doing and found him hanging over the fence chatting with the kids next door. They began throwing a ball back and forth over the fence...they had fun! After we were done rearranging, Emily was surprised to find a new Dora chair for her. She has plenty of gifts under the tree and is going to be over whelmed tomorrow so we decided just to give it to her, she was delighted!

New artwork

A good friend of mine gave the kids their birthday gifts today, she is an artist. I hadn't seen her work before and she surprised the kids with these prints she painted. They are two separate prints, one of Dora and Emily, the other of Diego and Mac, she even got Mac's blue crocs! She also painted them so they could be put together. We rearranged the kids play area today and they fit perfectly! What an amazing gift!

More fun pics

We stopped at a local park on our way to take Mike to the airport. It was cold but the kids had fun playing and shooting more rocket balloons. Emily had fun trying to blow them up, she didn't get the concept of letting them go! We finally got a few pics of Emily with Mike, the boys did so much stuff together but the girls often hung behind. It was nice to get some pics together!

Colonial Williamsburg with Uncle Mike

Image
The boys went into Colonial Williamsburg today to explore. They had a great time, ran into some bulls, played with balloons and drank hot apple cider! Uncle Mike leaves tomorrow, we've had a great visit!

Our first snow of the year

Image
Last night it started snowing, it was really beautiful. We had a little snow ball fight and Mac loved the snow. Emily thought it was pretty cool too, she didn't know what to think of it at first. Today the rain washed most of the snow away, but it's snowing again now! Love the winter weather.
