Packing up Christmas

Tonight we packed up all our Christmas decorations. It's amazing to me the hours and hours we spent putting decorations up and getting everything just right and it took about 3 hours to pack it all up and put it away. Mac had a hard time with everything getting put away and wanted to keep his Christmas tree up in his room. We let him light up the tree one more time and now it's all put away until next year. Our house looks blah now after all the color and holiday cheer! It was such a nice Christmas we enjoyed all the time spent with our family and appreciate the distance they all traveled to share the holiday with us. Mac was so excited with all the holiday cheer, decorations and business it was fun to see. Hopefully Emily will be into it a little more next year but Mac sure got in and understood this year which made it more fun. He can tell you all about Mary and Joseph, he's learned alot in Sunday school and his preschool. He was also very concerned about how Santa...

Mac's packed suitcase

When I went to clean up Mac's room today I found his Thomas suitcase packed with lots of underwear, jammies and pull up's. I remember him saying as Holly's was packing that he was going to go to Alameda with her but didn't realize he had packed. Although he had lots of undies and pj's I'm not sure what he would have worn during the day!

Half caff, non fat bagel

Yesterday morning I was making breakfast and asked Mac what he would like to have for breakfast. His response: half calf, non fat bagel please. Guess I've been to Starbucks too often lately........

Colonial Williamsburg decorations

Sunday night we all went to look at the decorations and lights in Colonial Williamsburg. It's always a fun trip, the weather was unseasonably warm so it was a great day for a little walking around. Colonial Williamsburg is always beautiful but it was decorated so nicely, it amazes me how almost every door had a different design of a wreath or style. It was awesome!

Park fun

Sunday while Karen, Emily and I took Holly to the airport, the boys went to the park. They played football, baseball, flew Mac's new wooden, $1 airplane and took a hike. Of course Mac's legs got tired on the hike and John had to carry him a good part of the way, but fun was had by all. Don't you love the look of determination on Mac's face when he was hitting the ball!

Holly wasn't ready for bed when everyone else was on Saturday night. John hooked her up with a light so she could read in bed. She was sharing Mac's room, so she didn't want to turn on the lamp in the room. I had to snap a pic (the second one is with the flash).

Christmas with Pappy

After dinner out Saturday night we celebrated Christmas with Pappy. Emily got a Raggedy Ann doll which she hugged! Mac's favorite gifts were a race car and a very cool Hess truck! Books, movies and T-shirts were a great hit as well!

Christmas catch up

We've neglected the blog over the past few days. We were enjoying the time with all the family that the blog got put on the back burner, but we'll get you caught up now !!! Friday we had a great breakfast and some play time with the kids, then some of the crew headed off to Whitleys and the Yankee Candle Factory. In the afternoon Dad and Karen arrived and all 11 of us headed off to get pictures taken. That was a big event but we got a few good pics out of it! We then headed back home and had a fantastic mexican dinner, kudos to John for the enchiladas. Saturday after breakfast with Mom, Robert, Linda and Rae they headed back to Rae's house. After a quick lunch at home, we visited and napped and off to dinner that evening, thanks to Pappy! We didn't have to cook although we had a fridge full of leftovers! We had a second Christmas with Pappy, the kids got more loot, we have 2 lucky kids! Sunday Holly headed back to California, the boys played at the park and after nap...

What a Christmas

We have had a fun filled jam packed day. John and I were up from about midnight last evening until 3:30 am with Emily who wasn't feeling well. We figured Mac would be up at early and told my mom and the crew if they wanted to see Mac's seeing what Santa left him reaction, they had to be here by 7 am figuring that's the latest we could hold Mac off. We'll our doorbell rang at 7 am and we all were fast asleep, Mom and the crew had arrived. Everyone was quickly up and the fun began. Santa brought Mac a scooter, rockem sockem robots, a foot ball and some hula hoops. Emily got a little people airplane, John an Acer computer for traveling and I got a food saver. The kids had a boat load of presents to open under the tree. We took a breather to get some coffee and our 20# bird in the oven before digging into the presents. The adults had all agreed (well most of them) that we would draw names and help Santa to fill someones stocking instead of buying gifts for everyone (of cour...
