The Mac Kinnon Family

We've been doing family runs on some Saturdays and Mac has been enjoying the running.  I'm training for another half and had to run 6 miles today.  Mac asked if he could keep going with me instead of turning around with John.  He's only done about 4 miles before.  I wasn't sure if he could do it but thought we'd give it a shot.  Mac did a fantastic job.  He kept up with me the entire time and didn't complain once.  His first 6.1 miles.....I really enjoyed having him run with me and am so proud of him.  He better be careful......I may have him running more and more!  

The kids were out of school today so I thought we'd take a trip to check out our local zoo.  It was tiny but there was lots to see.  We had fun!

Mac's school was putting on a talent show and when Mac heard about it he wanted to try out for it.  Last December were tryout's, Mac wanted to do his "circus tricks".  He was selected for the show and was super excited.  He's been practicing at school twice a week and today was finally the day.  He was a little nervous but did a great job.  We are so proud of his focus and determination.  He was the only circus act among alot of singing and dancing!  Way to go Mac.  The video of his performance is a the bottom of this post.  Enjoy!

John had duty today so we decided to go check out a local "trampoline" place.  It was neat with lots of trampolines and a ball pit.  The kids flipped in the pit to try to win a prize.  There was also some dodge ball going on.  Mac loved it but Emily didn't care so much for it.  We finished it off with some bouncing hoops!

John and Mac were able to get the boat out today.  The fishing days have been few and far between so when they got a chance to get out our boat they did!  It was a beautiful day but no luck on the fish.....they did see some turtles!

Late afternoon I found Emily and Finn "resting their eyes".  Guess the early morning hike was too early for them!

We've been wanting to do an early sunrise hike at one of the more popular locations.....so we decided to get up at 5:30 and hike up the ridge for the sunrise.  Once the kids got up and moving they seemed to enjoy the hike in the dark.....and the view was worth it when the sun came up!  Gorgeous!!!!

Since Holly was sick last week and had to get some school stuff done we didn't get the opportunity to explore a whole lot.  Since she leaves tomorrow we thought we'd go be tourist for the day and went to see the USS Arizona Memorial.  It was a humbling experience and so rich in history.  I'm glad I got a little time with my sister.....Mac and Emily usually fill her time her so it's nice when we can squeeze in a few hours together!

Happy 10th birthday Mac.  He is growing up to be a kind hearted fun loving cheerful young man! We are so proud of all his hard work and accomplishments.  It's hard to believe the double digit years are here......it's going by way to fast.   He started his day with lots of balloons and decorations with a great breakfast....then off to school.  I brought in pizza and cupcakes for his class then there was some playtime after school.  Mac picked ribs, french fries and a ice cream cake for his birthday dinner and celebration.  He was blessed with alot of fun and neat gifts, then he dug into his cake.  Happy Birthday Mac!   Hmm....what's in here from Grandma Jan  Uncle Mike and Aunt Sarah are so sweet.....  Excited to see what's in here from Grandma Cheryl......  Hmmm....what could it be from Uncle Jim, Aunt Toni and Cousin Brian  Dad....stop joking....  Gran and...
