Spies on a mission

Image
Mac and Emily often play "spy".  We all have code names, the kids are Jack and Jill, I'm Mother Hubbard and John is Humpty Dumpty.  They've wanted walkie talkies for a long time, they received a surprise package in the mail today from Gran and Grandpa Robert......they are ecstatic.  They played with them all night, Emily came down before bed with her lego gun and glasses.  I love to see their imagination at work!

Ferry pirate

You never know what your going to see on the ferry...yesterday was a busy day.  We saw a pirate on the way to Seattle and had to stop on the way back for a funeral (assuming someone was spreading ashes) and on another ferry (one we weren't on) a lady went into labor and had the baby on the ferry!  Fun times!

Morning stretch

Image
John does his physical therapy in the morning before he goes to work.  Emily sometimes likes to help him, this is what she was doing before breakfast!

Little swimmer

Emily's has had a few sessions of swim lessons, she is really loving the water and doing well.  She is learning strokes and doing a pretty good job staying afloat!

Birthday celebration #1

Image
Emily's 5th birthday is next week, yesterday we celebrated it in her preschool class.  Her teachers got her a little bear book, little bear's friend is Emily.  She thought that was pretty cool!  Emily is super excited, each day saying ..... days until I'm 5!  2 more birthday celebrations on the horizon, it's going to be fun!

First ride in a police car

Image
John's uncle Glen is a police officer in Seattle, when he heard I was running the half marathon yesterday he offered to arrange a ride for me from the ferry to the race start.  I wasn't sure how I felt about riding in a police car....something I have not ever experienced but it was kind of fun!  Mary Ann was awesome, she picked me and my running buddy up got us to the race.  Thanks Glen for being so awesome :)!

Nutcracker weekend

Image
Emily had her second year as a baby mouse in the Nutcracker.  It was another busy Thanksgiving with all the dress rehearsals and shows but Emily does love it.  She is the 3rd mouse in on the last picture.  It was another beautiful production, her ballet studio does a fantastic job every year.  Emily is hoping she will be big enough to be a snow angel next year!  I'll post some professional pictures once we get them in a few weeks!

Dates with Aunt Holly

Image
Holly was here for two days, each day she took one of the kids for a special "date".  Mac picked bowling (also got to play pool and video games) and ice cream and Emily had breakfast (special crepe with lots of yummy stuff in it) and painting pottery with Aunt Holly.  Both kids loved their date!

Rainy day in the city

Image
Since I had to pick up a race packet on Friday we made it a family adventure in the city.  It was Holly's birthday and she was visiting friends in Seattle before heading our way.  After a rainy walk and a stop at the North Face store (Emily had to have her picture with yet another mannequin) we met Holly at a popular donut shop and sang Happy Birthday to her.  The kids were so excited to see her!  After our treat we went to watch the tree lighting, it was neat and they ended it with fireworks.  A great fun day, Happy Birthday Holly!!!!!!

Happy Thanksgiving

Image
Finally after a very busy Thanksgiving weekend I'm getting some blogs up!  We had a great Thanksgiving.  We were excited to get to spend some time with Pam, Glen and Gleno.  Lots of turkey, good food, full bellies and great family time made a perfect Turkey day!  We are so blessed and have so much to be Thankful for!  Happy Thanksgiving.
