Isn't she adorable. She loved playing with her babies today wearing her new shirt and jacket!

Birthday party number one

Image
Pappy wanted to do an early birthday celebration with Emily while we were in PA which was great! We will have another party for her on her birthday but she loved having a party. Pappy did it up right and had all kinds of Tinkerbell stuff and a Tinkerbell cake which made Emily's day. She and Mac had a great time with the cake, Mac was super sweet giving her a big hug! After the cake she opened a few presents. Along with Pappy and Karen's gifts we took Grandma Jan's and Mac's gifts for her so she would have more to open. Emily got a coloring book, crayons and a Bell Disney doll. Mac got her a Tinkerbell tea set and Grandma Jan got her lots of books, an outfit and a little baby doll. Emily loved everything and was so excited by it all. Of course the two dolls had to ride on her lap all the way home and didn't leave her side today. I can't wait to celebrate again on her birthday. It's hard to believe she's going to be three!

Sling shot

Pappy took Mac to the Caverns (where he works) gift shop and let each of the kids pick out something. Emily of course picked out some princess/mermaid thing and Mac really wanted some laser gun thing. Pappy did great and called me to see what I thought about it, and wasn't surprised when we weren't too thrilled. Mac did take an interest in a sling shot and we agreed that would be fun for Mac. Both Pappy and John had a long talk with him about when he can use it (only with an adult right now) and other safety things. Mac loved it and had fun trying to hit the target with it!

Thanksgiving fun

Image
Karen made a wonderful Thanksgiving meal today. It was just us, my dad and Karen and Aunt Linda came to share a wonderful day with us. We filled our bellies and hung out most of the afternoon. The kids had a great time playing, it's so cute to see them loving on one another. Boo kept waiting for Emily to drop something......so Emily obliged! We had a wonderful day and I'm very thankful for a wonderful family and a beautiful life that God has given me!

Thanksgiving morning run

Image
After my first Thanksgiving run last year I decided I wanted to make a new tradition and start Thanksgiving with a run. Since we were going to be in Pennsylvania for Thanksgiving this year I searched for a run and found a 5K right down the street from my dads. When we arrived last night Dad asked if we were going to run in the snow since they were calling for a wintery mix. Since I just started running this past year I wasn't sure how cold is too cold for me to run, so I decided to wait and see. I woke up this morning and it was about 38 degrees but it was dry outside so we got ready and headed out. As we pulled into the parking lot it started to rain and sleet, it was messy but I finished the race in a pretty decent time for me. Mac wanted to do the 1 mile fun run when I signed up, he began changing his mind this morning but he hung in there and he and I did the 1 mile fun run after my run. It was pretty cold and nasty by that time, I'm proud of him for hanging in there a...

Off to Pappy's

Image
The kids were super excited to go to Pappy and Karen's for Thanksgiving. While Mac was at school Wednesday we loaded up the car and Emily couldn't wait to go! After Mac's school party we got on the road. What normally takes us 4 1/2 to 5 hours took us 7 hours, thanks to DC traffic. The kids did great and were ready to burn off some energy when we got to Pappys!

Mac's Thanksgiving party

Image
Mac had his Thanksgiving party at his school yesterday. He was mostly excited because he was allowed to wear normal clothes and not his uniform! They had some games and crafts then food with their prayer buddies. Mac's prayer buddy Landon is a 3rd grader, a very nice boy. Mac made a basket with things his is thankful for. In his basket he had a picture of he and Emily and the other was all 4 of us and his fish tank! We then went back to his classroom where he finished a picture and got his face painted. It was a fun morning!
