Happy 70th Pappy

Image
We helped Pappy celebrate his 70th birthday today.  Since breakfast is his favorite meal of the day, he wanted to have a breakfast gathering for his celebration.  It was a fabulous celebration, lots of family and friends.  Holly was the "MC" and did a great job.  She also put together a great slide show of pictures.  It was a perfect way to celebrate 70 wonderful years!   Happy 70th Dad, we all love you!!!!!

Mmmmmm.......... Cheetos

We left Virginia Friday morning on the Amtrak train to Pennsylvania.  Aunt Holly surprised the kids by being on the train, they were surprised to see her as we were looking for seats.  During lunch Emily was really enjoying her cheetos.  She would take a bite and close her eyes like she was savoring every bite.  I caught a little video before she realized what I was doing...it was too darn funny!

Day one......a quick stop with old friends

Image
Our first stop on our trip was to Virginia to visit our wonderful friends, Linnea, Chris, Dixon and Luke.  Mac and Dixon were the best of buddies when we lived in VA and they didn't skip a beat when we arrived.  It was as if we never left, they just resumed playing as if we just saw them yesterday.  Of course Linnea and I felt the same as the boys, we enjoyed a long run together and spent lots of hours chatting and catching up.  We all had a blast, it was a short visit but we are so glad we got to spend time with them all......they are off to the Netherlands for a few years.  Now we'll have a new place to go visit!!!!

Hi ho, hi ho off to the east coast we go

We left earlier this week for a trip to the east coast to help celebrate Pappy's 70th's birthday.  It was a crazy weekend and week getting out the door, both kids had strep throat, then of course I got sick....it was crazy but we got off on Wednesday.  Grandma Jan came to our home to take care of Willie for us, and loves the company! Hi ho......

When we checked on Mac last night before going to bed, this is how we found him.  He'll probably kill me for this picture when he's a teenager.....wonder what he was dreaming about?

Mac's first pinewood derby

Image
Mac's cub scout troop had their pinewood derby today.  It was kind of fun to watch. Mac's car was #2.  Some kids had really creative ideas for their cars.  It was a long event and Mac's car wasn't the fastest but he was 3rd out of 4 kids in the tiger den.  He also got an award for "burning the track" with his flame car!  We learned alot, we'll be ready for next year!
