New swim team

Image
We visited the local swim team last week and Mac swam a few days with them.  We decided it was a good fit so he's now on a new swim team.  They have alot of kids, it will be a good fit for him.  He has to get used to training in an outdoor pool!

Showing off our jammies

Image
Emily is needing new jammies that are for our new climate. The majority of hers are fuzzy and warm but not cool enough for Hawaii.  I found some on clearance that she just loves....and they came with a sleep mask!

Our new favorite treat

Image
John's boat and truck arrived today....safe and sound.  Emily and I stopped to grab some groceries on our way home....and a treat.  Shaved ice is becoming the kids new favorite treat!

So long Gecki

Mac found our lizard friend today....he/she was a little stiff.......guess we should have make it go outside.  RIP Gecki!

Soup....

Image
John went golfing this morning and then he and Mac wanted to go snorkel so Emily and I went to get a few things and stopped for lunch.  Emily wanted soup....she is my soup girl.  It was yummy and I enjoyed spending some time with my sweet girl!

Exploring the island

Image
We wanted to find somewhere to explore today and also bike ride.  We found a trail in the North Shore area that was about 2 miles long so we decided to give it a try.  It took about an hour and a half to get there but the bike ride was fun.  The end of the trail stopped at one of the popular beaches, it was beautiful and clear water.  The kids loved jumping in....after a little swim we hopped back on our bikes.  We stopped for lunch and some shaved ice on our way home.   We saw alot of neat places on our drive to explore!

Emily learning to snorkel

Image
We went to the beach for a little while today.  John worked with Emily for a while trying to teach her how to snorkel.  She isn't quite comfortable yet with the mask and learning how to breath.  John was a patient dad and worked for a while with her.  Then he an Mac went off to explore. Mac of course cannot get enough...as we know how much he loves the water!

Beautiful rainbow

Image
While Mac was swimming with the local swim team to see if he liked it...we went for a stroll.  We saw an amazing rainbow....so beautiful!

Our new visitor

Image
There is a variety of amazing birds here in Hawaii...but also lots of bugs and other creatures.  I was greeted today in our hotel room by a gecko lizard.  I didn't freak out and John reminded me they are good....they eat bugs!  Mac was super excited and tried numerous times to catch him.  We joked we have a new pet and the kids named him Geiki!

Our safe arrival to Hawaii

Image
We arrived safe and sound to Hawaii and were greeted at the airport with a big welcome of lei's by John's new boss and the person he is replacing.  They were so great to help us with our many bags.  Of course it is sunny and warm here.....we will need to acclimate to our new climate!  We are staying at one of the military bases until we move into our house.  It's nice and has all the amenities we need.  The kids are in a summer school program for the next 3 weeks at their new school in hopes to make some new friends and get familiar with their new school.  John is working a few days then will be on leave to help us get settled!  Aloha!

Our last night in Seattle

Image
Pam was so gracious and came over to pick us up and help get all of us and our 13 bags to the airport for our journey tomorrow.  After dropping all of our stuff off at the hotel we went to the air and space museum.  It was fun to see and the kids had a good time exploring and hanging out with Aunt Pam!  After a good dinner we settled in for our early wake up and adventure to our new home!  It's been an awesome 3 years in the Pacific Northwest....lots of great memories.

So long for now...

Image
A week of fun......and goodbyes.  As they are packing us up and we are preparing for our move this week the kids have spent a few of the days playing with their best buddies.   We stopped by to see Mac's teacher who had a baby and many of our friends were gracious and had us over for dinner....which we greatly appreciated.  We really have developed so many great friends and felt blessed to be part of such a great community.  We are all very sad to be leaving......we would love to come back after our Hawaiian Adventure.  Aloha Poulsbo....... Baby Braddock Emily and Naomi Mac and Samuel Mac on the beach with Brooks Mac, Brooks, Luke and Bailey Mac and Brooks

Loving lemons

Our crazy girl loves lemons....she will eat them up!

Congratulations to John

We watched proudly today as John received a nice award from his unit as well as was promoted from a Lieutenant to a Lieutenant Commander.  The kids and I changed his shoulder boards, it was awesome to be able to be part of this great accomplishment for John.  We are so very proud of him and all his hard work.  Congrats John, WE LOVE YOU!!!!!!!!!

Emily's last t-ball game

Image
Emily had her last t-ball game today.  Coach Jason gave all the kids a medal and a treat bag.   Emily seemed to enjoy playing and learned a little about baseball!  I think she enjoyed having one of her BFF's on her team.  She and Stella were too cute together!  We'll see if she wants to do t-ball in Hawaii!
