Special surprise

Image
Grandma Cheryl came up from Southern Cali with Theresa to visit Pam and came over to visit us for the day.  We surprised the kids with a "mystery reader" and Cheryl was able to read to the kids classes together.  They were excited to see Cheryl and as soon as we walked outside they both were talking to her, it was very cute to watch her try to have two conversations!  After some fun on the playground and some ice cream we were off to watch Mac swim.   We had a great dinner, it was so awesome to spend some time together...we didn't get enough pictures though!  Can't wait for our next visit.

Sleeping beauty

Image
Emily saw the ad's for the Pacific Northwest Ballet's Sleeping Beauty.  She asked numerous times if she could go so I decided to surprise her with a trip to the show.  She was super excited when she found out we were going and got all "dressed up".  We had a fun time together, while our seat were a bit far away it was still a great show.

Globetrotters

Image
Mac, John and two of Mac's buddies and their dads went to the Globetrotters game today.  Mac came home so excited and couldn't stop talking about all the fun stuff he saw.  They got their balls signed, Mac thought that was pretty cool too.  They had a great time!!!

Dress up

Emily had a friend over for a playdate yesterday, they love to dress up and put on a show.  They changed into three different outfits and "performed" for us.  Love their creativity!

Eating fish.....

Image
I am shocked and happy to admit that I finally ate fish....and liked it!!!  I do not really care for seafood, with the abundance that the boys catch I get bummed that I don't eat it and really wish I enjoyed it more...it's so good for you.  John made halibut tonight with a coconut crust, it smelled so good.  I decided to try a bite and was so surprised that I liked it, it didn't taste fishy at all.  The kids were so excited that I ate fish, Emily had to take a picture!  Ok....bring on more halibut!

Happy Valentines Day!!!

Image
The kids each made me a great card and I had flowers waiting for me for Valentines day.  The kids received lots of awesome and loving cards from the family and loved each one.  Holly sent them a photo book of their special date day with her while she was here over the holidays.  The kids thought they were pretty cool, she always does a great job with them.   Happy Valentines Day!!!

Emily's swimming.....

Image
We took the kids to the pool to swim so John could work with Mac for an upcoming meet and Emily could play around.  She's been taking lessons and is up to level 3 and swimming pretty good, she's very excited and were seeing great progress.  After John and Mac were done they went over to the diving boards and slide.  Emily wanted to go down the slide, the pool rules include having to wear a life jacket unless you pass the swim test.  Emily went down the slide once with a life jacket on and really wanted to take if off.  John asked her if she wanted to try to pass the swim test which includes swimming from one end to the other and back without stopping and then immediately treading water for 30 seconds.   John and I weren't sure  she would have the stamina to make it yet but sure enough she proved us wrong.  She passed with flying colors!!!!  She was tired and we were so proud of her.   So then she wanted to go off the low diving boar...

Special artwork

Image
Two weeks ago the kids brought me two pictures that they had made for me to take to work to help make the animals feel better.  My co-workers loved the artwork, Mac and Emily made more and we are using it some of the animals cages.  The kids just love that they are helping make sick animals feel better.  I love that they thought of it all on their own, so sweet and precious!

A day to remember....

Image
Mac has been so into football this year and into the Seahawks.  He was so jazzed when they went to the superbowl and over the top excited when they won.  He really....really wanted to do to the parade and asked John to please take him.  John thought about it and worked it out so he could take him, Mac again was over the top excited.  It was crazy for them to get there and very cold (only about 20 degrees).  The line to get on the ferry was the longest it's ever been, people were having to wait for hours to get onto the ferry.  John and Mac joined 700,000 of their Seahawk buddies and watched the parade in Seattle.  They had a great time and a wonderful memory for both of them!

3 on 3 basketball tournament

Image
Mac and 3 of his buddies from basketball participated in a local 3 on 3 tournament.  It was a double elimination tournament and they did fantastic.  They came in second out of 7 teams in his division.  The boys were very tired and worked very hard.  They received medals for placing second and enjoyed some pizza after their hard work!!!!  Great job for their first tournament.
