We got lucky and made the MAC flight and arrived in Hawaii last last night, we were awakened by blue skies and sunshine.....ready to explore!

Patiently waiting.......

Image
Our Hawaii adventures begins....we drove to California to try to get on a MAC flight, which is a free military flight.....we are waiting to see if we will make it, there is no guarantee.  We had a long drive last night and this morning.....a now we wait.....with alot of other people!

Image
Our snorkeling gear arrived....we are ready for our trip to Hawaii!

Hard work

Image
Mac's class did a short story on hard work.....Mac's had some great swimming accomplishments from his hard work!

First t-ball practice

Image
Emily wanted to play t-ball this season so we are taking a break from ballet to try something new.  She has her first practice and thought it was pretty cool.  It take the patience of a saint to coach a t-ball team!  One of her buddies is on her team which makes it more fun!

New hairdo

Image
Emily needed a haircut and decided she wanted to try a "short" hairdo.  While we like her hair a little longer, we let her try out a new haircut.   She does look darling and it's much easier to take care of....great for our upcoming trip to Hawaii!

Steve Jobs

Image
Mac's class, along with the second grade class presented their "wax museum" today.  They all pick a historical figure to learn about and "become".  Mac chose Steve Jobs and did a great job with his speech.  He realized he spelled Steve's name wrong on his poster but it was too late to change it.  Mac was the only one who entirely memorized his speech (video at bottom of this blog), he did a fantastic job.  Way to go Steve Jobs....aka MAC!!!!

Party Girl

Image
Emily went to a "Frozen" birthday party this weekend and loved it.  She looked especially darling with new face paint!

Special surprise from Mike and Sarah

Image
John's brother Mike and his awesome and beautiful fiance Sarah are getting married this fall.  They wanted to ask Mac to be a ring bearer and Emily to be a flower girl and came up with such an awesome and creative way to ask them.  They were excited to open the packages and both were even more excited to be part of the wedding.   Their are videos of each of them opening their packages. We are so happy for Mike and Sarah and are so happy we can share in their special day!

Artwork into art.....

Image
Mac had sent Gran and Grandpa Robert a thank you card a while ago with a neat drawing that he learned in art class.  One of Grans friends who is an artist saw the picture and thought it was pretty neat and asked if she could turn it into something fun for Mac.  Mac just loved the surprise and kept saying, I drew it and she made it....it's popped out, this is awesome.  He was so cute and just couldn't believe his artwork was able to be turning into something tangible.  So cool.....

More suprises...

Gran and Grandpa Robert arrived Monday to spend a few weeks with us and brought some special treasures for the kids.  The couldn't wait to open their surprise, they got some more new duds for Hawaii, they will fit right in!  Thanks Gran and Grandpa Robert!!

Amazing swim meet

Image
Mac had a swim meet this weekend, it was his second since he entered a new age group.  He went from 8 and under into the 9-10 year old group.  His first meet in the 9 year old group was challenging for him but this meet went really well.  Saturday he competed in the 100 IM, 50 freestyle, 50 breast stroke and a fun race called the "Daffodil Derby" which was a 25 freestyle race.  Mac cut 8 seconds off his 100 IM, 7 seconds off his 50 free, and 5 seconds off his breast stoke.  Best of all the derby was 22 kids and only 12 made the "semi-finals".  Mac swam hard and was #12.  He swam in the semi-finals and the top 6 went onto the finals Sunday.  While he swam fast, there were some fast boys so we weren't sure he would make it into the finals. Sunday he swam the 50 butterfly and 50 backstroke.  He took 4 seconds off his backstroke and got a qualifying time for his butterfly (he was DQ'd as his last meet).  Overall he did amazing, he beat ...
