The Mac Kinnon Family

Emily turns one on December 3rd, so we decided to celebrate early while we were with family in PA. Yesterday we had a fun party for her, she was a beautiful princess! She thought the balloon were magical and she liked everyone singing to her and when it came time to dig into her soy free, dairy free cake (yummy) she didn't know what to think. Her first handful she cringed as her hands were sticky, then she got over it and dug in! The evening ended with my cousin Kelly and her husband stopping by with their children. There are a few videos mixed in with the pictures, enjoy! We'll sing happy birthday to her again on her birthday, what a special girl to get two celebrations!

While we were at Candy Lane, they had a neat hat store. The kids were trying on all sorts of hats which were cute and funny! Mac, Gabe and Jordan had the most fun!

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving. The day started with Pappy asking Karen to marry him, which she said Yes! We are very happy for dad and Karen and are thrilled to welcome her into our family. Pappy then wanted to show Mac his scooter which Mac thought was the greatest. We then headed off to Aunt Sharon's for a great Thanksgiving feast with lots of family. It was so wonderful to see everyone, including Sandee, John's dog that Sharon adopted 5 years ago when we needed to find her a home. Sandee looked great, she seemed to remember us, at least we like to think she did! Sharon cooked a feast fit for a king, she reminds me alot of my grandmother. I realized as I started this blog that we didn't get any good pictures of Thanksgiving dinner while we were at Sharons. Boo hiss on us! Happy Thanksgiving everyone! We will be spending the day at Aunt Sharon's with family and will enjoy a wonderful meal. We sure have a lot to be Thankful for this year. Enjoy your day and celebrate with your loved ones!

Last night we took the sweet lights tour. It's a huge display of Christmas lights that you drive through. It's amazing how they put up all the lights, it must take months to get them up. It took us about an hour to drive through.

Since we are so close to Hershey PA we decided to take a trip yesterday to Chocolate World. It's a neat place where you take a tour of how they make their chocolate, tastings and everything you can imagine for sale related to Hershey chocolate. Mac was in heaven, he not only enjoyed a free sample, he and John shared a chocolate peanut butter milk shake. The sugar high wore off and everyone had a great time. They even had a chocolate bar for a sale almost as big as Mac!

Mac and Emily were way to cute in the bath tub this evening. Mac was "teaching" Emily how to blow bubbles, she would laugh then try to blow bubbles. We would clap, then she would clap for herself. We keep laughing ourselves each time we see this clip!

Pappy's been working part time at the Indian Echo Caverns, today we got our own personal tour of them. It was very interesting and Pappy was extremely knowledgeable. Mac thought it was cool, although he kept saying he was scared (due to the darkness). We didn't see any bats, Mac was looking! There were 70 some steps down (and back up). It was pretty neat.

After a great carb loading dinner last evening, John's alarm went off at 5:30 this morning. At 7 am when the marathon started the temp was 25 degrees with a wind chill making it feel like 21 degrees. John finished the marathon in 4 hours and 36 minutes, it was still very cold then. Mac, Emily and I went to the finish line and were fortunate enough to see him come across the finish line. This is John's 4th marathon, it is amazing to me how he does them, what an accomplishment. He will be sore for a little while but we are all so proud of him. Way to go John!
