The Mac Kinnon Family

While we were hiking Grandma Jan took the kids to play miniature golf....they had a blast!

John and I have been wanted to do a hike together and wanted to get in a date morning before Grandma Jan left.  We decided to hike Koko Crater, it's a steep hike, 1200 elevation gain and about 0.70 miles up.  It was a good climb but so beautiful when we got to the top!  What a fun morning together.  Next time we might see if the kids could make it.......

We decided to take the kids to the beach after school.  They really enjoyed chilling out in the water and boogie boarding.  The waves weren't real good but they had fun trying anyhow.  We also saw Santa on the beach....guess he is resting up before his busy season!

Mac received his certificate today for his golf lessons...Level 1 complete....and level 2, he starts level 3 tomorrow!  He is loving it.

Emily brought home her first spelling test today.  She got all the words correct and the 2 bonus words!  Way to go Emily!!!!  (sorry the picture won't turn correctly!)

We went to John's office today to hang some pictures and see his office since we haven't been there yet.  He's got a nice space and the best part is his view....I don't know how he gets any work done!

Mac's been asking for me to go along with he and John when they do the twilight golfing so I can see the course and see him golf.  We all decided to go tonight, we rented 2 golf carts.  It was fun to see Mac and John golf and the course is really beautiful.  It was a great family day all around! 

Our past month of weekends has been all about getting unpacked, sorting, organizing and settling into our new house.  We decided we needed to have some fun this weekend and Grandma Jan has been here a month and hasn't been to the beach yet!  We spent the morning and early afternoon at the sand bar.  On the way out we asked Mac if he wanted to boogie board behind the boat.  He was a bit nervous at first but then got into it!  I think I was more nervous about it then he was.  We had fun at the sand bar and all got a good dose of salt water and sun!

We had a big rain storm this morning......I saw this beautiful rainbow when I headed out for my run....God's beauty is abundant....

All of Mac's activities have taken the spotlight lately, we felt it was Emily's turn to do something.  She has swimming starting in a few weeks but asked her what she would like to do as her second sport.  She picked gymnastics so I took her to a "trial" class.  It was a large group of kids but very well organized.  She seemed to really enjoy it....now we need to figure out where we can fit in into our busy schedule!

The pool was closed today due to some algae problems so Mac's swim team had a "beach workout" for practice today.  The did some stuff on the beach and then did some ocean swimming.  Mac loved it and asked for more practice!!!!!  Crazy kid.....

A package arrived today from Pappy and Aunt Holly.  They had a fun adventure and went to the Baseball Hall of Fame and found some treasures for the kids.  They both were very excited and Mac was glued to his baseball card and a fun arrowhead that Pappy sent him from the caverns.  The shirts were a big hit too and Mac loved the book...although the baseball cards trumped everything else!  They also loved their special coins......  Thanks for the special treasure!!!
