Sweet Emily

Image
Mac stayed home sick from school today with a sore throat, he caught a bug I had this weekend.  Emily made this heart for him at preschool today to make him feel better.  She also had 5 smarties in her hand when she got in the car.  She gave Mac three and kept two for herself....then asked me if smarties make  you smart!

Letter from Mac

Image
Mac's been learning how to write letters in class.  We receive a letter from him in the mail Saturday, it's sweet and fun!

Searching for treasure

Image
We have some military friends that are moving this week, we watch the kids for them this weekend.  They had a blast playing, while the girls were at ballet I took the boys to the beach to explore.  They found lots of treasures and mud!

Scouts Blue and Gold

Image
We went to Mac's cub scouts Blue and Gold ceremony this weekend.  It's always a neat event, the boys usually get their badge for whatever den they are in and their is a neat ceremony for the boys that are moving up to boy scouts.  Mac earned his wolf badge, he was very excited.

100th day of school

Image
Mac's school had their 100th day of school today. Kindergarten - 3rd grade all brought in 100 of something and dressed like they were 100.  All the teachers dressed up, they were pretty awesome.  The principal brought her father in who was 100 this year and he drove a very old car.  The kids just loved it and had a fun day.  Mac loved it, he even walked out of school acting like he was 100! Johns walker from his knee surgery came in handy!

While mom and dad were away

While we were away the kids had fun with Grandma Jan.  The got to eat Wendys and Yogi's (frozen yogurt), watch movies and she took them to do some fun things.  They hiked and looked for treasures and went to the kids museum for art day.  We came home to lots of beautiful artwork!

Weekend getaway

Image
Jan has been visiting and was so gracious to offer to watch the kids so John and I could getaway for an overnight....which we haven't done in a very, very long time.  We rented a small cabin outside of Mt. Rainier and spent the full day Sunday snow shoeing from Paradise to Panorama Point.  There was very low visibility, we climbed from 5000 feet to 7000 feet.  People coming down said there was visibility at about 8000 feet but we felt we would wait until another time.  It was awesome and we were very tired at the end of the day!  We were able to relax in the hot tub to help heal our sore muscles!  We had a great time and can't wait to go back again, with the kids....they would love it!  Thanks Grandma Jan!

Classroom Valentine's parties

Image
Both Emily and Mac had parties today in their classrooms.  I baked treats for Mac's party, dessert pizza's.  The kids at both parties shared valentines and played games.  Emily just loves the holiday, Mac I think just loves the candy!  Grandma Jan is visiting and bringing "Flat Stanley" along on her adventures for Brian's class. She read a book again to the class, they like her "Cranberry" books.   It was a fun day!

Great Valentine's morning

Image
We had a great Valentine's Day morning.  We got the kids a little gift and treat.  John made a beautiful bouquet of roses and wonderful heart waffles.  Mac made Emily and I cute little heart trays, we all got something special.  It was the perfect way to start the day!

Maggie and Emma's gifts

Image
Emily's been so into Valentine's day.  This morning she gave her dolls, Maggie and Emma their gifts...handmade bracelets.

First heartbreak

When I picked Emily up from school yesterday I could tell she wasn't herself.  On the way home I asked if she had a good day.  She began sobbing, wouldn't tell me what was wrong and cried all the way home.  When we got home and held her for a while, a little worried about what happened at preschool, she finally broke through her sobs and tells me "Spencer played with Jacob today and didn't play with me", and then went back to sobbing.  Spencer has been her best buddy for a while now and she was heart broken when he didn't play with her.  It was very sad....

Early Valentine's gift

Image
The kids received an early Valentine's Day gift from Holly on Monday, which they got to open Tuesday morning.  Emily loved her new outfit and wore it proudly today!  They both had some yummy cookies and Mac has all kinds of ideas on ways to spend his $10!
