Happy Halloween!

Image
We had a wonderful fun evening. The kids were super excited about Halloween and trick or treating. Mac was Buzz Lightyear and Emily was Minnie Mouse. Even Gran and Grandpa Robert got in on the action! Emily didn't visit as many houses as Mac but she was amazing that you could get "gaga" (her word for candy) by going to someones door! The got to enjoy a few of their treats when we got home, now what to do with all this candy....any suggestions?????

Halloween golf

Image
Mac played golf today at his Saturday multi-sports thing, he did great, you could tell his been golfing with his daddy and pappy! Of course Emily was the best cheerleader!

Our sad little pumpkin

Image
I grabbed a pic of our carved pumpkin. In comparison to previous years and others we say trick and treating, ours is a little amateur, but we did it none the less!

Pumpkin Carving

Image
We picked a pumpkin at the apple orchard and carved it when we got home. Mac was interested for the first few minutes but got bored quickly. When he tried to scoop out the inside he got grossed out and needed a scooper....he's never liked scooping it out with his bare hands. So when he got bored my mom jumped in to help and we got it done. We didn't get a good pic of the final product, we'll have to grab a good picture tomorrow!

Apple orchard fun!

Image
We went to a great apple orchard in Charlottesville, one we went to last year. We thought this would be fun to do with Gran and Grandpa Robert, the ride was beautiful as all the leaves are changing colors! It was cloudy and a little cool but we had a fun time. It was a big hike up one of the mountains to get some fuji apples, we stopped to look at a caterpillar and Emily got a ride for part of it! Once we started picking apples the kids were on their game. Emily is a collector and loves to gather so she had armfuls, Mac was more interested in using the super large apple picker.....! Emily tried to carry one of the bags and fell on her rear (and got muddy of course). We saw some wonderful views, Mac said "we can see the world"! After we came down from the fuji's, Mac and I went to look for more apples but we didn't have an apple picker thing, so Mac climbed up in the trees to pick the apples for me which was a highlight for him. We left with 20 pounds of apples...

Mac's Halloween party at preschool

Image
Mac had his halloween party at preschool today, he was so excited about wearing his Buzz Lightyear costume! He and his classmates were way to cute. There is a video clip at the end that shows all his classmates! They went from room to room singing and seeing the other kids. We can't wait for Saturday!

Another American Idol tryout!

Mac is learning a lot of new songs at school. He's been singing 2 of his favorites several times a day "Elle's afraid of Elephants" and "Winter is coming". I managed to tape them together this am....he actually does a pretty good job at it!

Another railroaded conversation....

One of our neighbors had a baby last night, they have a son, Jayson that is a little older than Mac and they play together alot so we know them. We watched Jayson yesterday while they went to the hospital until family arrived to take care of Jayson. We found out this afternoon that they had their baby, another boy just over 9 pounds. At dinner Mac asked me where babies come from. He is way to young to be having this conversation so I had to think of a way to explain it in simple terms without giving to much info. I first told him we would chat about it when he got older because it was a little hard to understand. He told me that he understands alot and asked the question again. So I told him that the baby is a gift from God that grows in a woman belly in something called a uterus. When the baby is ready to come into the world it comes out of a special place in a girls body. I explained boys don't have this because they can't have babies. Thinking this would be good eno...

Mac reading to Emily....sort of

In the car on the way to swim lessons today Mac read Emily her "Easter Bunny" book. It a real cute sesame street book and we read it ALOT. Mac read it by memory but it was sweet none the less!

Sibling love

Image
Yesterday when we were outside our neighbor snapped this picture of the kids on Mac's skateboard. It was way to cute, Mac was scooting them along very slowly!

T-ball fun

Image
Mac has a little sports 4 week thing on Saturdays where they do a different sport each week. Today was t-ball, and Mac of course loved it. It was warm and very windy here today, Emily enjoyed cheering her brother on!

Fun at the park

Image
We had another beautiful day here and met up with some friends at the park. The kids had a great time playing in the sandbox, throwing leaves, riding bikes/skateboards and of course playing on the toys. Emily tried to stand in the middle of the boys playing, but doesn't she have the best smile in the world!

First picture in the lines

Image
Mac has been getting better and better with coloring and staying within the lines. He is learning about Indians at preschool and brought home a picture today. After lunch he sat for a while and worked really hard at coloring it and staying within the lines. He did a wonderful job, this is the first picture he as both completely colored and stayed within the lines!

Spider webs

I don't know why but the spider webs are plentiful around our area these days. One went about 20 feet from the back of John's truck to our mailbox. I'm not a fan of spiders and it seems everywhere I turn I'm seeing them or walking into them....yuck......

Beautiful day

Image
We had a gorgeous day here today and we enjoyed our afternoon outside soaking in some sunshine. The first picture is from yesterday, we spent a little time outdoors but it was much colder, 55 yesterday and almost 70 today - go figure!
