The Mac Kinnon Family

The kids have been bugging us to go to the pool to play for a while so we had time today and all went to have some fun.  The water was a bit cool  and after playing for a while they finally opened the "dive" area.  Mac really wanted to try the high dive, of course I was a nervous nelly but he loved it and went off both boards lots.  I'm sure he'll be doing flips off them before long!

Grandma Jan took the kids to an animal sanctuary yesterday, they saw lots of fun animals who loved the attention. 

Instead of a date night John and I had a date afternoon and went mountain biking.  We had loads of fun and were covered in mud!  What a fun way to spend time together, it was awesome!

Mac's cub scout group has their "blue and gold" ceremony last night, it a celebration of the boy scouts birthday and when most cubs receive their den badges.  Mac received his tiger cub badge, now he spends the rest of the season earning "belt loops" and other achievements. Were proud of Mac!  All the den's did a skit, Mac's den sang "do your ears hang low". 

Emily's been asking for a few weeks to get her haircut again, she wanted it shorter.  We finally went today to the lady who did her original haircut, Emily was so excited.  She had been asking to try bangs too and John really wanted bangs last time so we went ahead and cut it to her shoulders and gave her bangs.  She looks even more different then her first haircut.  She loves it, she looks in the mirror and plays with it.  She is really going to be a "girly girl"!

John and Mac had a superbowl bet and Mac won so he got his wish, to go snowshoeing again.  Jan is visiting and also had wanted to try snowshoeing.  Our original plan was to head back to Hurricane Ridge but they closed the road due to weather so we headed east to Hyak.  It was a little more commercial but still alot of fun.  All 5 of us snowshoed for a little over a mile, Grandma Jan decided she wanted to head back and offered to take the kids with her so John and I could continue on.  It worked out great and John and I ended up going about 7 miles.  The views were amazing, it was so beautiful.  There was one "black diamond" hill to climb which was a challenge, overall we all had a great time!

We had movie night tonight and we were watching another one of the "Beethoven" series which the kids just love.  As we were watching it Emily said she didn't like one of the mean characters, I told her it was ok that the movie wasn't over yet.  Emily says, I know....... all movies end with a happily ever after!!!!

After ballet today we went to starbucks with a friend of ours, the girls had juice and a donut, they were too cute.  They sat there chatting away and enjoying their time together.  We both had an enjoyable time!

Over the past few months Mac has finally worked through his  nighttime wetting issues and pretty much doesn't have any more problems other than an occasional accident here and there. I've noticed a few times while doing laundry that his volume of underware seemed less, but I'm always doing alot of laundry so I didn't think too hard about it.  Tonight I folded two loads after just doing laundry on Saturday.  Emily had 3 pairs of underware, Mac only one.  So I asked him tonight if he was changing his underware everyday.....found out he's hasn't been on the nights he doesn't shower.  Oh boy.....

We've had a great valentines day!  We got lots of wonderful cards from family and the kids just loved opening up all the cards and finding surprises in them too!  Emily just loved her new dress which she wore to her preschool party today!  Valentines day in the classroom was a little crazy for both kids.  They came home with lots of Valentines and candy, almost like Halloween, not in that excess but way more then they need.  The kids had a fun day!

Friends of ours needed a babysitter today, since we didn't have anything going on we offered.  Their children are the same age as ours, Gerrit is in the same class as Mac, they really enjoy hanging out.  The kids played so well together today, no fighting and only one boo boo!  From princesses to legos and battleship and chips they were very busy!  They cleaned up their own toys, the biggest mess was the dinner table.  All in all it was a fun day!

As we were eating breakfast this morning we had some guests outside joining us!  The kids were super excited to see them and watched them the whole time they hung around.
