One tired girl....

Image
I went to check on the kids after we put them to bed, Emily was in our bed with the light on and my carpal tunnel braces I sleep in on.  Way to funny......

Tea party

Image
One of our friends had a baby yesterday so I was watching her kids today, both are the same ages as Mac and Emily.  They girls had a blast today from playing games, dolls, getting muddy outside to having a tea party inside.  When they asked Gerrit to join them he said no way....he was so excited when Mac got home!  The girls loved their tea party with real tea, cookies and of course sugar for the tea!  It was  a fun day and everyone is exhausted tonight!

First boat adventure

Image
After Mac's cub scout fishing adventure this morning, John and Mac took the boat out for their first adventure.  They both had a great time and spent a couple of hours on the water.  Mac got to "drive" the boat a few times and he seemed to loved the "bed" in the cabin.  The first of many adventures to come....

Trout fishing

Image
Mac's cub scout pack went trout fishing this morning.  They all loved it even though no one caught anything!  Mac's in the aqua green sweatshirt.

John has his boat...

Image
John had a boat when we got married but life and babies got in the way and he sold it right around the time Mac was born with the promise that someday he'll have another.  Since we've arrived in the northwest, which is a perfect location for fishing John has been itching to have a boat.  After alot of research in the fall and a boat show or two he finally decided on what he wanted and has been watching craigs list for it.  Last week his ideal boat popped up and today he became a boat owner once again.  Mac is also very excited, I foresee lots of father and son fishing trips!!!!!

Yard work...

We've spent almost our entire weekend working in the yard.  It's been so beautiful here the past few days and our yard needed some TLC and we had to prepare our garden area.  The kids loved playing outside so much, Emily had some issues with me pulling the "pretty" weeds with flowers, but she got over it!  We still have some work to do but it feels good to have a large amount of it done!

Sweetness

Image
Emily was reading to her baby dolls the other morning, it was very sweet.  Also seeing her and John cuddled up sleeping over the weekend was also precious!

Toothless wonder

Image
Mac lost his 6th tooth today which was his first top front tooth, he's so proud! He's got 3 more loose ones on the top, he's not going to be eating apples whole for awhile!

Last snowshoe trip of the season

Image
With warmer weather here the mountains are loosing their snow pretty quickly.  We decided to head up today to get one more snowshoe adventure in before the snow is gone.  It was a beautiful day, sunny with a temp of about 40 degrees at the top of the mountain.  We decided to use the backpack this time for Emily which worked out well.  The snow was a bit slippery and crunchy from the melting and refreezing.  We hiked about 2 miles in to an overlook with amazing views and hung out there for a little while.  The birds must have been hungry, they were all over us while the kids were eating their snack and of course sharing with them.  The came onto John and Mac's legs and boots to get snacks!  The kids did great, Mac didn't complain once.  It was a fantastic day!

Play ball......

Image
Mac had his opening day ceremonies and first baseball game today.  He is playing "A ball" this year which is machine pitch.  It's a little better than t-ball, they play either 5 innings or 2 hours, whichever comes first.  Today they played 5 innings in about a hour and a half. Mac played numerous positions, he still loves catcher the best. They also keep score this year, Mac's team won, 10-1!  Fun start to the season!

I'm not in a good mood

Emily woke up yesterday morning and told me, "I'm not in a very good mood today".....

I don't think it's true....

Grandma Jan was here visiting and taking care of Willie for us while we traveled, she left yesterday.  On our way home from picking Mac up at school he said something about Grandma Jan being at home.  Emily says to him "We took Grandma Jan to the shuttle, she said she would be back in the blink of an eye.  I'm blinking and she's not here so I don't think it's true".   Too darn cute!!!!  Thanks Grandma Jan for taking great care of everything for us!!!!

Too tired

This is how we found Mac the other night, he was supposed to be reading before bed.  He was very tired.....

Happy Easter

Image
We were still on east coast time this morning so everyone was up early (but we were glad to be home)!  The kids were thrilled the Easter bunny brought them baskets, Willie was excited to see what was inside too!  After church we went to a nice brunch then home for an Easter egg hunt.  Jan filled and hid 70 eggs for them and they had a ball finding them.  Mac also got to see the Easter bunny but Emily wanted nothing to do with him.  It's a beautiful day here, spring is blooming and great day to celebrate the rising of Christ, he has risen indeed!  Happy Easter!
