Mac's newest talent

Mac's buddy Dixon showed him this weekend how to make lovely "tooting" sounds from your armpit. Mac has been obsessed with figuring out how to do this on his own and is quite proud of himself as he's figured it out. Today after we got home he and Emily went upstairs to change, wash hands, etc. and it was too quiet. I go up and find Mac trying to teach Emily how to make these lovely sounds from her arm pit. Oh boy.....boys will sure be boys. I later had to explain to him that while I'm so glad he's learned this great new talent, boys seem to find it much more humorous than girls do and I would appreciate if he practiced it in another room. John finds it all very funny....

Amity, you do a great job of handling these situations diplomatically!! I think it's great that you will have a record of these "teaching moments" to pass along to the kids for years to come :-) They will have personal lessons to help them raise their own children...and stories for you and John to share with your grandkids!!!

Friday night Christina came out from LA to hang with us. John headed out early Saturday morning to spend a week fishing in Mexico with Jimmy for his 40th birthday!  Saturday Christina and the kids played almost all day long.  From shooting targets with Mac to being a princess, then playing Zombies with the kids and lots of Uno....all before lunch!  We hung out at the pool for a little in the afternoon, then met Mike and Sarah for some dinner and arcade games.  What an awesome way to end our last night with Grandma Cheryl, Mike and Christina.  I think everyone had a blast and I think Christina slept pretty well Saturday night!!!!!!

Movie with the kids

The forecast for today was a high of 100 degrees with humidity so what else is there too do on a hot day but hit the movies. I surprised the kids with lunch then we went and saw Toy Story 3 in 3D, the kids loved it. Emily did much better than I expected and only got bored the last 20 minutes or so. Mac of course couldn't take his eyes off the movie.
