Happy 7th Birthday Mac

Wow, time goes by so fast, Mac turned 7 today.  He was up at 6 am and so excited to by 7.  We let him open up a gift, which needed some time to charge so we let him open a second and he was just tickled.  John was able to surprise him at school for lunch which was an extra special treat for Mac. 

Per Mac's request he wanted Salmon, white rice and cooked carrots with butter.  Not what we expected from a 7 year old but we didn't complain!  We celebrated with a Star Wars cake made of vanilla cake and chocolate icing, again per Mac's request.  After fully bellies he opened the rest of his gifts, all which were just wonderful.  John and I gave him a keyboard, he's always had an interest in music and has started piano lessons so were hoping he is more musically inclined the John and I. 

Before bed he told us he thinks this was the best birthday ever!  Happy Birthday Mac!

Hanging with Aunt Christina

Friday night Christina came out from LA to hang with us. John headed out early Saturday morning to spend a week fishing in Mexico with Jimmy for his 40th birthday!  Saturday Christina and the kids played almost all day long.  From shooting targets with Mac to being a princess, then playing Zombies with the kids and lots of Uno....all before lunch!  We hung out at the pool for a little in the afternoon, then met Mike and Sarah for some dinner and arcade games.  What an awesome way to end our last night with Grandma Cheryl, Mike and Christina.  I think everyone had a blast and I think Christina slept pretty well Saturday night!!!!!!

Movie with the kids

The forecast for today was a high of 100 degrees with humidity so what else is there too do on a hot day but hit the movies. I surprised the kids with lunch then we went and saw Toy Story 3 in 3D, the kids loved it. Emily did much better than I expected and only got bored the last 20 minutes or so. Mac of course couldn't take his eyes off the movie.
