Emily's first loss....

Yesterday I noticed one of Emily's hermit crabs was out of it's shell.  This happens sometimes as they grow out of their shell and find a new one.  This morning Emily came downstairs, her bottom lip quivering and said...Belle didn't move all night I thinks she's dead and burst out into tears.  John was still home so he went to "check" and sure enough Belle had gone to hermit crab heaven.  Emily sobbed and sobbed for a good half an hour, finally as we had to leave to get Mac to school she calmed down but it was sure a rough way to start the day.  Her poor heart was broken.  

John gets home from work with a card from his office.  He was telling one of his buddies at work who is a little bit of a comedian and he created a card for Emily and had some of John's co-workers sign it.  John handed it to Emily and she says "I had such a fun day I forgot all about Belle".  Let's hope all her heartbreaks pass as quickly....but somehow I don't think they will.  Rest in Peace Belle.

Hanging with Aunt Christina

Friday night Christina came out from LA to hang with us. John headed out early Saturday morning to spend a week fishing in Mexico with Jimmy for his 40th birthday!  Saturday Christina and the kids played almost all day long.  From shooting targets with Mac to being a princess, then playing Zombies with the kids and lots of Uno....all before lunch!  We hung out at the pool for a little in the afternoon, then met Mike and Sarah for some dinner and arcade games.  What an awesome way to end our last night with Grandma Cheryl, Mike and Christina.  I think everyone had a blast and I think Christina slept pretty well Saturday night!!!!!!

Movie with the kids

The forecast for today was a high of 100 degrees with humidity so what else is there too do on a hot day but hit the movies. I surprised the kids with lunch then we went and saw Toy Story 3 in 3D, the kids loved it. Emily did much better than I expected and only got bored the last 20 minutes or so. Mac of course couldn't take his eyes off the movie.
