I can't belive my little boy is 5

I don't know where the past 5 years have gone, it's amazing how time flys. My little boy is now 5 and not so little anymore. What an amazing young man he is becoming.

Mac woke up as John was leaving for work today, we surprised Mac with balloons this morning. He was so excited to see balloons, we sang to him and I put a pin on him that said it was his birthday, which he was tickled by. At preschool today they celebrated his birthday, he got a birthday book which all the kids made a picture for him, he got to be the line leader, prayer leader, etc during their activities. I brought cupcakes so everyone sang and enjoyed the treat.

This evening we had some good friends over for dinner and to celebrate. Mac wanted fish for dinner so John made some striper. Mac enjoyed the food and having his friends over. Unfortunately John got called into work for an emergency and had to leave just as we were sitting down to dinner. After more cupcakes, Mac opened up all his wonderful gifts and wanted to play with everything. It was late and time to settle into bed, needless to say he was asleep fast.

Great B-Day pics... It sounded like a special day for a very special boy... I too find it hard to believe that Pappy's "Little Buddy" is now 5, and growing into a fine young man.

Friday night Christina came out from LA to hang with us. John headed out early Saturday morning to spend a week fishing in Mexico with Jimmy for his 40th birthday!  Saturday Christina and the kids played almost all day long.  From shooting targets with Mac to being a princess, then playing Zombies with the kids and lots of Uno....all before lunch!  We hung out at the pool for a little in the afternoon, then met Mike and Sarah for some dinner and arcade games.  What an awesome way to end our last night with Grandma Cheryl, Mike and Christina.  I think everyone had a blast and I think Christina slept pretty well Saturday night!!!!!!

Movie with the kids

The forecast for today was a high of 100 degrees with humidity so what else is there too do on a hot day but hit the movies. I surprised the kids with lunch then we went and saw Toy Story 3 in 3D, the kids loved it. Emily did much better than I expected and only got bored the last 20 minutes or so. Mac of course couldn't take his eyes off the movie.
