A great day at Hurricane Ridge

We spent the entire day today at Hurricane Ridge.  It's one of our favorite places to snowshoe and we couldn't have asked for a more perfect day.  All 4 of us wore snowshoes today, we hiked a total of just over 3 miles.  Were were out on one of the peaks eating a snack when we were visited by "robber jays" as they are called....who wanted our snacks.  One grabbed a piece of a granola bar out of Emily's hand.  The kids did amazing on the hike and after some lunch we sledded on the hills for a while. While we were eating lunch Mac saw a cougar skull and asked the ranger about it.  She was awesome and let us see a cougar and bear skull and a cougar skin.  We all thought that was pretty cool! We finished out the day with an amazing sunset and the view of a cloudy valley that looked like we could walk on the clouds!  The kids worked very hard today and earned a frosty when we got back into town!

Hanging with Aunt Christina

Friday night Christina came out from LA to hang with us. John headed out early Saturday morning to spend a week fishing in Mexico with Jimmy for his 40th birthday!  Saturday Christina and the kids played almost all day long.  From shooting targets with Mac to being a princess, then playing Zombies with the kids and lots of Uno....all before lunch!  We hung out at the pool for a little in the afternoon, then met Mike and Sarah for some dinner and arcade games.  What an awesome way to end our last night with Grandma Cheryl, Mike and Christina.  I think everyone had a blast and I think Christina slept pretty well Saturday night!!!!!!

Movie with the kids

The forecast for today was a high of 100 degrees with humidity so what else is there too do on a hot day but hit the movies. I surprised the kids with lunch then we went and saw Toy Story 3 in 3D, the kids loved it. Emily did much better than I expected and only got bored the last 20 minutes or so. Mac of course couldn't take his eyes off the movie.
