Date with Daddy

Emily loves the Nutcracker, aside from performing in it with her ballet studio she will watch it anytime, over and over again, she loves the DVD she got for her birthday.  We thought about taking her to the "professional ballet" , the Pacific Northwest Ballet in the city to see their performance but tickets were fairly expensive so we decided to wait until she was a little older.  John was offered tickets for free through his work so he jumped at the opportunity.  They went on a "triple date" with two other dads/daughters from his work. 
 
We had to shop for a dress, we all loved the one we found.  Emily asks me after we pick out the dress to get a purse since she needs to have one that matches (not sure where she gets her interest in fashion, certainly not from me).  Emily was so excited to go on a date with John yesterday, they both looked so nice.
 
Emily had a great time, they all went to dinner before the show.  John said she just loved it, she even stayed awake all the way home. She didn't get to bed  until after 11 but she was one happy little girl.  I'm so glad she and John got to share a special day!

Hanging with Aunt Christina

Friday night Christina came out from LA to hang with us. John headed out early Saturday morning to spend a week fishing in Mexico with Jimmy for his 40th birthday!  Saturday Christina and the kids played almost all day long.  From shooting targets with Mac to being a princess, then playing Zombies with the kids and lots of Uno....all before lunch!  We hung out at the pool for a little in the afternoon, then met Mike and Sarah for some dinner and arcade games.  What an awesome way to end our last night with Grandma Cheryl, Mike and Christina.  I think everyone had a blast and I think Christina slept pretty well Saturday night!!!!!!

Movie with the kids

The forecast for today was a high of 100 degrees with humidity so what else is there too do on a hot day but hit the movies. I surprised the kids with lunch then we went and saw Toy Story 3 in 3D, the kids loved it. Emily did much better than I expected and only got bored the last 20 minutes or so. Mac of course couldn't take his eyes off the movie.
