Happy 7th birthday Emily

Emily was up bright and early ready to celebrate her birthday!  She was greeted with balloons and decorations and a great birthday breakfast.  Emily wanted to open one gift and picked Mac's, she was tickled to get knee and elbow pads to go with her new roller blades!  We took cupcakes to school so her class could sing happy birthday and then after school she got a call from Pappy asking if she could open his gift since he was 5 hours behind us!  Of course she was tickled once again to get to open another gift early and excited to get an "automatic" puppy that she had been asking for....for weeks.  We have no idea why she wanted a play puppy when she has a real one!

After her special birthday dinner which she picked halibut, brussel sprouts and homemade mac and cheese the girls next door came over to help sing Happy Birthday and enjoy some mint chocolate chip ice cream cake.  Then we all set out for an adventure a few blocks away...to see a tree lighting and Santa.  It was pouring rain but the girls were singing Christmas songs and skipping through mud puddles the whole way!  

After we got home Emily was able to open the rest of her gifts, everyone was so awesome and generous.  She got some awesome new shades, a gymnastics leo, a mini American Girl doll and book, and Elsa doll, a Hello Kitty backpack, tickets to the Nutcracker, a beautiful new dress and a getaway box for a fun date to the Hale Koa with Aunt Holly.  She really loved everything, she is one lucky and blessed little girl!  We are so very blessed as well that we welcomed such a sweet and beautiful girl into this world 7 years ago!  She was so pooped when she went to bed.....we found her cuddled up with Mac!  So sweet!  HAPPY BIRTHDAY EMILY!!!!!

Hanging with Aunt Christina

Friday night Christina came out from LA to hang with us. John headed out early Saturday morning to spend a week fishing in Mexico with Jimmy for his 40th birthday!  Saturday Christina and the kids played almost all day long.  From shooting targets with Mac to being a princess, then playing Zombies with the kids and lots of Uno....all before lunch!  We hung out at the pool for a little in the afternoon, then met Mike and Sarah for some dinner and arcade games.  What an awesome way to end our last night with Grandma Cheryl, Mike and Christina.  I think everyone had a blast and I think Christina slept pretty well Saturday night!!!!!!

Movie with the kids

The forecast for today was a high of 100 degrees with humidity so what else is there too do on a hot day but hit the movies. I surprised the kids with lunch then we went and saw Toy Story 3 in 3D, the kids loved it. Emily did much better than I expected and only got bored the last 20 minutes or so. Mac of course couldn't take his eyes off the movie.
