A great day on Lake Powell

We are seeing some amazing and beautiful sights on our journey.  Today we went out on a boat with a family friend Kevin who was gracious enough to spend all day showing us Lake Powell.  The lake is endless with forks off the lake with sights galore.  We went 50 miles out to one of the 7 natural wonders of the world, Rainbow Bridge. It was amazing to see, the only way to get there is by boat or to hike 18 miles across the desert.  The kids also spent some time getting up and water skiing.  Mac of course was up his first try, I wish I had some of his athletic ability!  Emily also did great, it took her a few tries but she got up as well and if we had more time she would have been a pro in no time.  The lake was nice a cool, a great way to cool off from the heat.  It was hot at Lake Powell but was well worth the trip!  We didn't have internet for a few days but it was nice to be unplugged for a while.

Hanging with Aunt Christina

Friday night Christina came out from LA to hang with us. John headed out early Saturday morning to spend a week fishing in Mexico with Jimmy for his 40th birthday!  Saturday Christina and the kids played almost all day long.  From shooting targets with Mac to being a princess, then playing Zombies with the kids and lots of Uno....all before lunch!  We hung out at the pool for a little in the afternoon, then met Mike and Sarah for some dinner and arcade games.  What an awesome way to end our last night with Grandma Cheryl, Mike and Christina.  I think everyone had a blast and I think Christina slept pretty well Saturday night!!!!!!

Movie with the kids

The forecast for today was a high of 100 degrees with humidity so what else is there too do on a hot day but hit the movies. I surprised the kids with lunch then we went and saw Toy Story 3 in 3D, the kids loved it. Emily did much better than I expected and only got bored the last 20 minutes or so. Mac of course couldn't take his eyes off the movie.
