The Mac Kinnon Family

We've gotten a few good pictures of Emily over the past few days, she is developing quiet the personality.

It is very windy in the outer banks today, as it has been since we arrived but the weather today was sunny and beautiful. We drove about 30 miles to Hatteras and stopped by the lighthouse with the hopes to walk up to the top. When we arrived we found out you have to be 42" tall and be able to walk up to the top and back down on your own. Emily will have several years before she is tall enough, Mac was about 2" shy, so we posed for a few pictures and headed back to the camper. John and Mac went and fished for a few hours while Emily and I chilled out and relaxed. We had a fun day, it sure is nice to get away and relax. Mac can't get enough, he just keeps going and going!

We loaded up the camper yesterday and stayed in Elizabeth City last night.  This morning we went by our home in Hertford, NC and met our new tenants.  We are very fortunate to have such good folks renting our place.   Tonight we are in the little town of Waves between Cape Hatteras and Nags Head.  The only thing between us and the beach is a little sand hill.  We have about 20 mph winds but no rain so it's is worth it.  We took a walk today and Mac just loved trying to find sea shells and sharks teeth.   Well send more later.

We are going camping this weekend to the outer banks. John brought the trailer home (were storing it on one of the military bases) yesterday so we could clean it up. When we put it away after our big cross country journey we didn't even think about mice getting into it. We'll they had quite a party and I spent 6 hours taking everything out, bleaching, cleaning up mouse crap, etc. It was quite a tedious job and it's not completely done yet. It's all worth it, we will be relaxing this weekend on the beach! We are researching ways to keep the little yucky buggers out of the camper if you have any ideas please let us know!

John stained the playset yesterday, it looks beautiful, aside from the fact it takes up 1/2 our yard. It's doesn't make out house look pretty but Mac sure loves it which is all that matters :)! I'm really glad we found a used playset and didn't have to buy a brand new one. They are expensive and John would have spent days putting it together!

John picked up Emily a swing for the play set and she just loves it. John stained it today and it looks fantastic. I'll hopefully get some pics of it tomorrow.

I went to a huge kids consignment sale yesterday and got a bunch of winter clothing for the kids. I came across a pair of roller skates, the kind that you wear your shoes and strap on. I thought about it, then called John to see if he thought Mac would be ready for something like this. We decided what the hey and I got them, they were only $5. When I got home I showed them to Mac and he was so excited about them and had to try them out right away. He did well for his first try. Today we went out again, he did pretty good, he already figured out if you get into the grass you have more control!
