Hatteras Lighthouse

Image
We visited the Hatteras Lighthouse.  Last time we were there Mac was too small to go up into the lighthouse.  You have to be 42 inches tall and able to climb all of the 270 some stairs on your own, he was thrilled he could do it this time.  Emily and Pappy stayed below while we got our aerobic workout climbing the stairs.  The view was well worth the climb, it was amazing!  After going up into the lighthouse Pappy bought the kids a gift from the gift shop and Mac worked on his quiz for his "ranger" badge at the house.  After he finished he said his "pledge".

Loving the beach

We had such a great time at the beach, it was a blast.  We all love the sun, sand and fun.  There are so many great pictures, we had lots of beach time, pool and hot tub time, we went to the Hatteras light house, enjoyed a beautiful sunrise service on Easter and enjoyed family time together!  Thanks to Aunt Paula for inviting us down and sharing her beautiful vacation home with us all!

Animal antics.....

At the Outer Banks Uncle Glen had his dog Winston and Aunt Paula had her dog Veka, a beautiful German Shepard.  The kids LOVED the dogs, Winston was always giving the kids kisses, which both kids laughed and loved!  Veka loved swimming and was in the water alot with the kids.  Mac thought she was pretty cool.

Back yard chilling

Last weekend as Pappy and Karen were heading to the beach, they stopped by for an overnight.  The kids enjoyed playing with them!

Aunt Holly's little helpers

Holly arrived today, the kids were super excited.  After her bag came Mac wanted to pull it, he did great pulling a 47 pound bag!  Emily of course needed to carry something too, she helped Aunt Holly with her purse.  Were off to the outer banks tomorrow!  Hopefully we'll have some internet access but if not we'll see you again Sunday!  Happy Easter everyone.

Chocolate smile

Pappy brought some yummy homemade chocolate easter eggs, peanut butter and coconut cream.  After dinner tonight I cut one of each up for the kids to try, Emily was in chocolate heaven.  She loved the peanut butter ones, good thing we have a dozen!  She definitely has her mama's sweet tooth!

Opening day for baseball

Image
This morning was the "official" opening day for the baseball season.  It's a big to do around here, it was neat to see all the teams (from t-ball through teenagers) on the field.  They had a great speaker, the coach of the William and Mary basketball team, the national anthem, prayer and lots of horahs!  After that it was time for individual and a team picture.  Keeping the boys (and girl) on the team busy for an hour was a little crazy but it was successful!  They didn't get to play today though, which would have been fun!
