Crazy girl.....

I guess you hold onto your littlest one and keep thinking they are still "too little" to do things.  Today Emily was on the merry go round, which I normally just make her sit down while others push.  Today she pushed all on her own, stood up and was able to jump up on while pushing it, each time with me cringing....then it hit me, she's really able to hold her own these days and mommy needs to lighten up a little......

While yesterday was the first day of school, it was only a half day so Mac was super excited to go for the full day today.  When he got home I found this note in his backpack.  He's already starting off great!  Yeah Mac!

Mac was so excited to start first grade today he was up before dawn!  It was only a half day so they had an easy day but he loved it alot and is excited to go again tomorrow!  I may have shed a tear or two but I love that Mac is so excited about school and hope he continues to love it!

So I got the jelly thing down, it's pretty easy so I thought it would be fun to try to can pears.  Overall the process was ok, I had about 18 pounds of pears = a whole lot of pears to peel.  It took me over 2 hours to peel and core the darn things......hopefully I will be glad it did it when I open a jar of pears this winter!  Who knows what's next!

The kids have been asking for a while to be able to run in the sprinkler, we haven't had a day where it worked out until today.  John was working in the yard, it was a hot day so it was perfect timing. John made them a slip and slide with soap and a tarp which they just loved.  They were in and out of the sprinkler all afternoon.  Emily's short were a little big, but loosing your drawers makes a cute picture.  It's so nice to see them play so well together, they had a blast! 

We found Mac sleeping like this....how can this be comfortable, obviously it was to him!
