Happy Birthday John!  We celebrated John's birthday this evening with a good meal and an ice cream cake!  The kids loved singing happy birthday and couldn't wait for him to open his present!  The kids made cards, which John loved.  Happy Birthday to my wonderful husband!!!!!!!

We've had some continuing problems with having to ask the kids to do things that they should be doing out of habit and having to repeat ourselves over and over again.  Mac's "listening ears" are worse then Emily's but we are so tired of nagging and sounding like a broken record.  As we searched for ways to help improve behaviors I recalled how a friend of mine had mentioned something was doing to help with some behaviors.  After getting the skinny from her we decided to try something similar and started Monday.  Essentially we've made a list of things/behaviors kids can earn chips (using poker chips) for, loose chips for and ways to "spend" their chips for fun things.  The kids were super excited to try and we've had two pretty successful days.  It feels good not to have to nag, I just say go get me a chip.  We had the kids help us create the list and of course in addition to fun things like TV time, computer time, going to th...

Emily and I were at a park today that had the most beautiful  pink flower bush/tree.  It was huge and I had to grab a pic...I'm loving the spring here!

I have had a wonderful Mother's Day.  John, Mac and Emily truly make me feel blessed to be their wife and mother.  I awoke to coffee and my newspaper in bed, then an awesome breakfast of eggs, bacon, cinnamon roll and fruit.  They both made me some awesome treasures and cards, Mac made me this poster below and came up with the sayings on it.  I love it!  Emily made some hand prints that stretched out accordion style that said "I love you this much".  So sweet and awesome!  After church and an errand I finally got to wash and wax my car which desperately needed some TLC.  John offered to do it for me but I really wanted to do it and the kids helped a little.  The kids just love playing outside, today they wanted to "look alike" as spy kids, one of their favorite things they like to do.  They are often coming up with "spy things" and our bedroom closet has become their spy room.  Anyway it has been a wonderful Mother's Day.  Hap...

John and Mac went fishing today and they had a great time.  Mac caught is first Halibut, it was too small to keep but he was so thrilled to have caught it.  I think both of them are excited to get out again soon!
