Emily's first cavity

Image
Emily had her first cavity filled today. She did so great they did it all in one visit (she was supposed to have another one filled in a few weeks). She even got a t-shirt for doing so well. Since we found out our water has no fluoride in it we've been making sure she's getting some so hopefully she wont have anymore cavities!

Busy Dad.....

<p>Holly found out last week she was selected to be on the Homecoming Court for San Diego State. When she asked me to come and support her I knew we had a full day on Saturday and would need help to make it happen. Thanks to my wonderful husband and a great friend I'm off to cheer on my sister! The kids love having John home today and to be able to spend the weekend with John. He will have a busy day tomorrow with Mac's relay, swim lessons, Emily's ballet and Nutcracker practice then off to a scouting activity for Mac. Whew I'm tired just writing this. Thanks John! I love you.

Another successful day

The boys went fishing today....another successful day, one salmon.  The weather was beautiful, John said it was very calm, a perfect fishing day! Mac cannot get enough, he just loves fishing!

Crazy hat and feet day

Image
Mac's class worked really hard last week so Mrs. Hemry had a crazy hat and feet day.  The kids were very cute dressed in all kinds of different hats.  Some had funky shoes, others wore two different shoes/socks.  They had alot of fun!

A day hiking hurricane ridge

Image
We have been really wanted to get back to Hurricane Ridge for a good hike and to see what it looked like in the summer.  This is our favorite place to snowshoe in the winter, we've only seen it with a whole lot of snow on the ground.  It was just as beautiful as in the winter and we saw roads, trails and parking lots that are buried in the winter.  We hiked about 2 miles up to the top of the mountain, the views were breathtaking.  Mac had a butterfly that landed on him and hopped a ride for about a mile of the hike.  Both kids were trying to catch crickets, Mac caught about 6 and Emily got one.  We saw a few deer and had a chipmunk join us for our snack!  Emily walked most of the hike, only wanted to "ride" twice for just a few minutes. A fun day, were all very tired!

Seals

Image
While running on the waterfront today I spotted a family of seals lounging on something in the middle of the inlet.  We've seen a seal from time to time but never this many, it was pretty cool!

Little swimmers

Mac and Emily finished their block of swim lessons. Emily was excited to pass level one and move onto level two.  Mac also is moving onto level 5.  His instructor asked if he was on swim team and said that he is pretty good and has some talent.  It was nice to hear and a great compliment for Mac!  He is swimming really well!  We are very proud of them both!
