Biggest fish...

Image
We decided to start our day today with a nice run on the path where we rode our bikes a few days ago.  It was a great run, Finn enjoyed stretching his legs too.  Later in the day Mac caught "biggie" a fish he has been trying to catch for a few days.  Too bad we can't keep it!

Beautiful Madison

We headed to Madison, Wisconsin today.  We started with a great farmers market and picked up a bunch of fresh produce and the kids had cheese curd for the first time.  The both thought it was amazing.  I wanted to pick some up for an awesome friend in HI that helped us with Finn.  She knew this area well and gave us some great recommendations....one of which was the Great Dane, a great restaurant for lunch!  After our bellies were full we took our farmers market stash to the car and got our bikes.  We rode to the Capitol building and took a tour.  It was so beautiful and amazing inside.  The detail was so specific, beautiful marble and stain glass throughout.  The view from top was pretty awesome too.  Of course Emily wanted to do her back hand spring in the center!  Mac loved trying to find fossils that were in some of the marble throughout.   After our tour we headed on our bikes to the University.  It too was a bea...

Pretty bike ride

One of the neat things about our journey is we get to explore areas with no great destination in mind.  Today we found a bike path to explore and found this neat little dam in the middle of a little city.  The path was pretty cool too!

Best classroom...

After a family run this morning we all began our work.  The weather here is amazing, we enjoyed our time working outside!  After their schoolwork was done they went fishing at the pond.  Emily caught the biggest fish she has ever caught. It's nice to have a relaxing day of not running around.

Just crusing

We had a long day driving today.  Both kids love to listen to their music.  Mac like music while reading, I'm not sure how he does that but he says it helps him.  Kids are good travelers....aside from being a bit messy with all their stuff.  Finn just chills at their feet, he's been the best traveler of all!

Quiet day

They were calling for some nasty thunderstorms today so we stayed close to home and got a few honey do's done.  The kids needed a haircut so we explored a little and got them both a new hairdo! Were off toward Chicago tomorrow.

St. Louis Arch

After our delicious dinner we headed to the Arch.  It's so magnificent.  After arriving we watch a film on the making of the arch then we were able to take the tram up to the top.  Emily was a bit nervous during our climb but we arrived safe and sound to the top.  The views were beautiful, we were able to catch the sunset.  After spending a while on the top, we can down the other side and captured some neat pictures.  Emily did her back hand spring in front of the arch, she has done 5 in every state!  The kids didn't pay great attention during the video and couldn't answer our questions so guess who's writing a report tomorrow?  It's a great way to finish up our Lewis and Clark leg!
