Connecticut.......Hello New York

Image
We traveled through Connecticut today, stopped at Costco then traveled through the hairy roads of New York, New York.  We stayed at a "campground" right across the bay in New Jersey that was a parking lot with RV's sandwiched in.   It was perfect, we settled in quickly and jetted off for the subway to head into the city for a run in Central Park.  We ran the 6 mile loop, it was dark when we finished.  We walked to Times Square to show the kids the craziness....it wasn't too bad!  Then we headed to Juniors for dinner and their amazing cheesecake.  The kids were in heaven.  After our bellies were full we found our way to the subway...and took a peek at the Empire State Building along the way.  We LOVE New York!!!!  Looking forward to tomorrow!

Ride and Ribs...

Today is our last day in Boston, the kids had alot of school work to get done.  We ran a few errands this morning then took off on a bike ride.  There is a beautiful trail, the "Minuteman Bikeway" that goes for around 10 miles from Bedford to Cambridge.  We rode for about 7.5 miles then John's tire blew out so we stopped to repair....then headed back.  It was a great ride and we all worked up a great appetite.  John made his famous ribs...they were so delicious we had rib coma all night!  We had time to squeeze in a much needed haircut for Mac.  We are off to New York city tomorrow, it will be a jam packed two days ahead.

Cold dog......

Our Hawaii dog is having a hard time adjusting to the "cold".  Tonight he kept pacing and wanting to be with us while we watched TV but didn't want to sleep on his bed.  He went back and forth between the kids and us and finally looked at me with such sad eyes I let him up on my chair with me.  He thinks he's a lap dog.....and he was one happy boy once he got to snuggle with body heat and a blanket. I also woke up a few nights ago and found John "cuddling" with Finn.  I kept feeling his paws in my back and woke up to see what was going on.....a man and his dog!

Providence Rhode Island.....and Plymouth Rock

Image
Today we ventured to Providence Rhode Island to explore a bit.  We found a small Native American festival and of course had to have some ice cream.  Emily almost forgot to do her back handspring....John pulled off right before the border for her to be able to do it!   After our fun in Rhode Island we drove to Plymouth Rock to see this historical area.  The water was beautiful and seeing the "Plymouth Rock" was pretty cool.  They also had a replica of the Mayflower.   I know I keep saying this but there is just so much history in this neck of the woods.  We are loving exposing the kids to all of this.  Hopefully they will remember it all!
