An afternoon at the waterpark

Since our camper wasn't ready to use this weekend, we had to go to plan B. John's next choice for his birthday weekend was to spend the afternoon at Water Country, it's opening day! We thought it would either be packed or empty (since it rained in the morning), the latter was true and we couldn't have been happier.

Mac was so excited and couldn't wait to ride the water rides. We started off in the kiddie area where Emily could play and get wet, then off to the wave pool, then started in on the rides. Mac was able to go on all of them with an adult and a life vest. John and I took turns, both usually getting to ride once with Mac as he often wanted to ride a ride several times. Since the park was pretty empty, most rides we were able to walk right onto. Emily hung out for the most part, we all did the "hubba hubba highway" together which was fun.
We all had fun and slept very soundly last night!

Pappy remembers the Water Park and Karen liked it too...Emily probably liked this year better than laying on Pappy's chest last year.

All the pictures brought back fun memories of last year!! Would love to get Pappy on more of those water rides this summer :-) Just seeing the kids' happy faces makes me smile----Looks like you all had a great time!

Hanging with Aunt Christina

Friday night Christina came out from LA to hang with us. John headed out early Saturday morning to spend a week fishing in Mexico with Jimmy for his 40th birthday!  Saturday Christina and the kids played almost all day long.  From shooting targets with Mac to being a princess, then playing Zombies with the kids and lots of Uno....all before lunch!  We hung out at the pool for a little in the afternoon, then met Mike and Sarah for some dinner and arcade games.  What an awesome way to end our last night with Grandma Cheryl, Mike and Christina.  I think everyone had a blast and I think Christina slept pretty well Saturday night!!!!!!

Movie with the kids

The forecast for today was a high of 100 degrees with humidity so what else is there too do on a hot day but hit the movies. I surprised the kids with lunch then we went and saw Toy Story 3 in 3D, the kids loved it. Emily did much better than I expected and only got bored the last 20 minutes or so. Mac of course couldn't take his eyes off the movie.
