Exploring Gettysburg
We started our day today visiting Aunt Linda! It's been several years and it was so awesome to see her and see some of her renovations. She has a passion for botany and loved sharing some of her great knowledge with the kids. Mac seemed to really dig all the info! Linda has several cats and of course Emily was all into playing with the kitties. She LOVED it!
Linda joined us for our adventure to Gettysburg. We started with the movie, Cinerama and then the museum. All was extremely well done. The Cinerama was fantastic and hard to believe how old it was. The museum went on forever and really detailed the three important days in July 1863. Linda seemed to enjoy it as much as the kids, although Emily wasn't as into it as some of our other historical stops. After exploring the museum we drove the "car tour" of all the battlefields. It was pretty cool, we stopped to see where Lincoln spoke the Gettysburg address.
After the battlefields we stopped for a bite to eat then headed home. We drove over a bridge that my grandfather helped build, the kids thought that was pretty cool!! It was a great day and we really enjoyed our time with Aunt Linda!!
