Car show fun

Jan took the kids to a car show yesterday, they had a great time seeing all the cars!

Spiders....

Jan took Emily to the museum where her friend Nancy works...they must have found some spiders!

Blackberry festival

We went to a local blackberry festival today and feasted on junk food and blackberry cobbler.  It was more of a flea market with blackberries then a "festival" but the kids had fun.  Emily got to ride a pony and Mac wanted to throw some baseballs, clocking his speed at 33 MPH!

School stress

Mac's school doesn't post class lists until the Friday before school starts, at 4 pm.  There is always lots of anticipation as the time nears.  This year was a little more stressful for us as one of the second grade teachers would not gave been a good fit for Mac and I had heard that the one we really wanted was being moved to first grade.  Yesterday as the stress and worry was building I received a call from the principal asking if we were still interested in having Mac in the Spanish bi-lingual program (we had met with the principal and requested if there were any openings).  Of course I said yes, but didn't believe it until I saw it when the list was posted at 4.  The teacher is supposed to be awesome, so we are thrilled and hoping for a great year in second grade!

Glad to be home

We got home on Wednesday, it's been so busy getting caught up. Thursday I found Grandma Jan, the kids and Willie just "chilling" watching a movie!  Everyone was tired and Willie needed cuddle time too!

Snoozing

We left San Diego at 4 am, the kids fell back asleep for a little while but were up when we stopped for breakfast at 6:30. Both kids napped today...Emily buried herself in her blanket while Mac caught flies! Everyone is snuggled in, we picked up Grandma Jan on our way through Sacramento. I'm grateful for the company. Well be home tomorrow!

Fun day in San Diego

We had a great day with Holly today.  It started off with a visit to the arcade on the military base, which was free.  The kids loved the games you could "drive", which was surprising!  Then we took off for the beach.  The kids had a great time, Mac boogie boarded for the longest time and couldn't get enough!  Emily was a little afraid to go out too far in the water, but loved jumping the waves and making "sand soup" with seaweed and the nettles.  After some time in the sun, what could be better then ice cream, right?  Well we found ice cream that was about the size of your head.  Mac had a snow cone and Holly and Emily shared a monster ice cream cone.  It was an awesome day, we wish we had more time but our journey home begins before the sun rise tomorrow!
