The Mac Kinnon Family

Mac had an amazing Freshman swim season.  He had many District qualifying times and chose to swim the 200 and 500 free.  He dropped 9 seconds in the 500 free and got selected to states.  His team was great and finished 6th overall with one senior, two sophomores and three freshman, the three in the first picture are the three freshman.  Mac finished 22nd overall in the state for 2A schools.  It was a good start to High School swim, now back to club swim. 

Today I had a volleyball tournament. Our team never lost a match! We got free t-shirts because we won the tournament. I played setter half the time and outside hitter the rest. It was the first time in two years that we won a tournament. We had to leave the house at 6 this morning, but I got to sleep in the car although dad didn't! I'm excited for tomorrow because we get to have a down day and we haven't had one for a while with all of our practices and commitments. Mom has to work though, so she will be even more tired!

On Friday, I had my second basketball game. The first one we won, but this one we lost. The score was 18-26. I scored 10 points, four baskets and 2 free-throughs. Mom and dad saw some of it, they came straight from Mac's swim meet. It was a traveling game in Tacoma, about 1 hour away.  After the basketball game, we went to an Italian restaurant and I got some spaghetti and gelato. It was really good! I am really enjoying basketball!

Last weekend I went to Snowblast, a three-night camp with our church. A few of my friends went, and it was lots of fun! For Christmas "Santa" gave me a ticket to Snowblast. We did fun games and played in the snow a lot. They had one hill where you would carry up an intertube and slide down the mountain on it. There were some really pretty views of the mountain, and I got some pictures of them.  Our leaders in our cabin knew how to french braid hair, so I got my hair french braided too! Every night, we didn't go to bed until around 1:30 and we had to wake up at about  6:30 every morning, so I was pretty tired! We went into Leavenworth one day and got some souvenirs. They also had worship and a message every morning and night which were also very good. The bus ride was about 5 hours, but it went by quick! There was some good food there too! There was also a talent show for one of the nights, and all the 6th grade girls did a dance and we got second place! The whole weekend...

This week Amity and I received an e-mail from Emily’s Science teacher.    o "Hello, Just wanted to let you know Emily lost a tooth today at lunch. Apparently it bled quite a bit. By the time I checked on her, it had stopped bleeding and the tooth was thrown away. I asked her about the tooth ferry...she just laughed. I asked her to let us know if it starting bleeding again as we could do ice and/or pressure. She seemed fine, but wanted to give you a heads up." In Kindness, Cyndi Zoolkoski, M.Ed." Somewhere in our county dump there is a fairy digging through the trash.  Way to make the tooth fairy work Emily!     nl

While I was at Snowblast, Mac, dad, and one of Mac's friends went skiing. They stayed the night about an hour away from the ski resort, but they were so thankful they did because Monday "Presidents Day" turned out to be the nicest day on the mountain all year. After a day of snow on Sunday, Monday was fresh powder and sunshine. They were all tired and ready for an early bedtime when they got home.

Today after church mom and I went to Costco, and we got a bunch of supplies for our baking. For the Super Bowl, I made some chocolate covered strawberries, lemon bars, and chocolate chip cookies. Dad made some chili for dinner, but mom and Mac had nachos. My favorite dessert was the chocolate covered strawberries. I plan on making my own baking business and sell desserts to people at mom and dad's work. I am still trying to figure out a name. Ideas are welcome. During the super bowl, I didn't care that much about the football game, but I love the commercials. They are always the best! I also like watching the puppy super bowl which is always the day before the Super bowl. Here are some pictures of my chocolate covered strawberries.
