Moving into a big bed
We've had a hard time transitioning Emily to a regular bed. I got a toddler bed a while back and she had issues with it and wouldn't sleep in it, since at the time she couldn't get out of the crib yet I was fine with her staying in the crib. Recently she's started figuring out how to get out of the crib and she's such a little peanut that she has a long way to fall. She also trys getting into it and gets her limbs caught in the bars. So we decided since John was home for a few days that we'll go find her a bed and go cold turkey, take out the toddler bed and crib giving her no other option.
It was a long day finding the right bed. We really wanted a bed with a trundle since we don't have a guest room it give an extra bed for someone to sleep if we need it. We are happy with our choice and Emily is too. It didn't hurt we pimped the bed out with Dora sheets, comforter, etc! We thought it was going to be a long night, but after about 5 "one more hugs", a trip to the potty (twice) and a nightlight she fell asleep without much fuss. I'm sure nap time will be a struggle but maybe it will be a good excuse for me to take a nap too!
