New York getaway
We spent the last few days in New York. John and I love the city so much and since were likely to transfer back to the west coast next summer we wanted the kids to see New York, especially at Christmas time, it is so beautiful. We split the drive up which made going there a little easier. The kids did great and loved being in hotel rooms. Friday night we hit Rockefeller Center, all Mac wanted to do was ice skate. It was very cold but we stood in line for about an hour and half to skate. Once we were on the ice we had a great time. John and Emily cheered us on from up top. Rockefeller center was amazing, the decorations were beautiful, they had a bubble light show on one of the buildings, it was awesome.
The next day we did the typical tourist stuff, we did a gray line bus and toured the city. We stopped at the Empire State Building and the Statue of Liberty. Both were very fun. After a long day and a stop at the toy store, which Mac thought was amazing, we had dinner at one of our favorite places.
Sunday we strolled in Central Park after a bus tour uptown. It was so much fun. The kid were tired but really seemed to enjoy themselves. Mac thought it was cool to see so many characters, like Elmo, Spiderman, Mickey and lots of Santa's in New York! We had to explain to him that people like to dress up like Santa for money. We loved the trip, it was awesome!
