Sunrise hike
Mac, John and I were out the door at 5:15 am for a sunrise hike. It's been a while since we've done one and we were in such beautiful country we just had to embrace the nature! We hiked Pine Cobble which was actually across the border in Massachusetts. It was about 1.8 miles up, in the dark woods. I have to admit it was a little creepy, especially when we heard a loud "thump" nearby and couldn't see what it was! The sun was up as we reached the top but it was so foggy we couldn't see a thing.
We hiked another 1/2 mile further to reach the Appalachian Trail. We were so close we had to hike it for a little. We had a great time and it was a great workout. Now we can say we hike part of the Appalachian trail! After we got back we packed up again....and were off to New Hampshire. We stopped at a scenic overlook, it was pretty but fall is not quite in bloom yet. We were hoping for more color but will take what we can get! Hello New Hampshire!
