Walking around Paris

 We did not plan on having riots in Paris but for the last 3-4 nights people have been rioting against the government and police for the shooting death of a 17 year old black youth.  We really should have listened to Emily to take the metro but we walked the Champs-Elysees which is the  road toward the Arc de Triomphe.  We have no pictures because we were focused on navigating the crowds safely and not stirring attention to ourselves.  The walk prior to this was awesome, we went from Notre Dame (sad to see the aftermath of the fire) all the way through the Louvres (outside) and down the Tuileries Garden to the Concorde monument circle.  We had a meal by the hotel which felt safer.  No venturing out tonight, last night they had 2,00o detained and 1,200 arrests.
