Cherry Blossoms in DC

We had planned to take a trip to DC to see the beautiful cherry blossoms this past weekend, when Brian got sick we weren't sure if we would make it. Brian was still pretty ill so John stayed home with him while Jan, the kids and I went to DC Saturday am. We got there and settled into a hotel, then took the metro into the city. It was CRAZY busy with people but well worth the trip. The cherry blossoms were beautiful, a miraculous site. The blossoms circled the basin and throughout the city.

We hung out a few hours on Saturday then returned Sunday morning, there were crazy amounts of people it took forever to get downtown on the metro. We went by the White House and went back to the basin, it was a wonderful day and a beautiful site. We ended the day with the kids sharing a snow cone, Mac was such a good boy sharing with his sister! The kids did great in the city, the lost it a little on the way home but overall it was a wonderful trip, we wish Brian and John could have joined us! If you ever get the chance to visit DC during the cherry blossom time, it's well worth the trip.

Nice pictures of the cherry blossoms, a couple should be keepers...like the one of Jan and Emily.
Karen and I hope to see this beauty maybe next year.

Friday night Christina came out from LA to hang with us. John headed out early Saturday morning to spend a week fishing in Mexico with Jimmy for his 40th birthday!  Saturday Christina and the kids played almost all day long.  From shooting targets with Mac to being a princess, then playing Zombies with the kids and lots of Uno....all before lunch!  We hung out at the pool for a little in the afternoon, then met Mike and Sarah for some dinner and arcade games.  What an awesome way to end our last night with Grandma Cheryl, Mike and Christina.  I think everyone had a blast and I think Christina slept pretty well Saturday night!!!!!!

Movie with the kids

The forecast for today was a high of 100 degrees with humidity so what else is there too do on a hot day but hit the movies. I surprised the kids with lunch then we went and saw Toy Story 3 in 3D, the kids loved it. Emily did much better than I expected and only got bored the last 20 minutes or so. Mac of course couldn't take his eyes off the movie.
