Fun in the snow....sort of

Mac has been asking to go to the snow so John and I thought this weekend would be a good opportunity since John starts traveling next week and will be gone for most of the next two months. The closest place we found was in western Virginia, outside Charlottesville about a 3 hour trip.

After a very long night on Friday night (Emily decided first she didn't feel good at midnight, then she wanted to party with daddy until 3:30 am), we got up at 6:30 and were on the road by 8am. Not having been there before we called ahead to get tickets to the "kids area" since we figured it would be a busy weekend.

As we arrived, Mac was in heaven just to see snow. While John and I realized it was man made snow, it certainly wasn't what either of us expected. Mac and Emily both had a grand time which is what matters the must, they loved the snow which made it worth the trip. After spending time playing and tubing in the snow we enjoyed their indoor play area and bungee area outdoors (see separate blog about bungee).

Emily seemed to enjoy the snow, she went down the hill in the tube along with Mac a few times and by herself. She just kicked back and took it all in. Her boots were as big as she was, I took her gloves off toward the end so she could feel the snow, she didn't like her hands wet and cold but otherwise seemed tickled.

It was a long day but the kids had a great time, hopefully I'll be able to take the kids to PA sometime this winter to play in some "real" snow!
