Valentines

Mac had his valentine party at his preschool today, he was asked to bring valentines for all his classmates. I had him pick out valentines a few weeks ago, which he chose Kung Fu Panda. We also picked out a few goodies to send with the valentines. Mac's selection de jour was ring pops, peanut butter hearts and gummy bears. We (more I than we) assembled little bags with valentines for him to take today. Mac did sign all the cards and helped for a few minutes. I also baked some cookies for him to take and share at snack time.

He was very excited this morning, when I picked him up he was still excited and talked all about his day. He came home with lots of little valentine cards and goodies, it's like Halloween on a mellower scale. Has it always been this way?

John is off on his next trip, so it's me and the kids for a while. I don't know what we'll do on Saturday but we'll find something fun to do.

Valentines day sure has changed since Pappy went to school... We were lucky if someone shared one of those candy hearts with the crazy messages.

Hanging with Aunt Christina

Friday night Christina came out from LA to hang with us. John headed out early Saturday morning to spend a week fishing in Mexico with Jimmy for his 40th birthday!  Saturday Christina and the kids played almost all day long.  From shooting targets with Mac to being a princess, then playing Zombies with the kids and lots of Uno....all before lunch!  We hung out at the pool for a little in the afternoon, then met Mike and Sarah for some dinner and arcade games.  What an awesome way to end our last night with Grandma Cheryl, Mike and Christina.  I think everyone had a blast and I think Christina slept pretty well Saturday night!!!!!!

Movie with the kids

The forecast for today was a high of 100 degrees with humidity so what else is there too do on a hot day but hit the movies. I surprised the kids with lunch then we went and saw Toy Story 3 in 3D, the kids loved it. Emily did much better than I expected and only got bored the last 20 minutes or so. Mac of course couldn't take his eyes off the movie.
